thank you rooster. this was a lotta work and we all know you didnt need to do this. its priceless information on our dealers.

congrats to wbk with no complaints!

i know the forum is limited to the forum software but there has to be a way where a member can easily fill a quick survey after they receive the watch so we can have updated daily polls, graphs, rank, comments... etc. on each dealer through out the year.

just an idea.

That's not a bad idea at all, and there was some talk of something like that maybe last year. It would have to be designed in such a way as to minimise the potential risk of ratings manipulation, of course. But it could be done (perhaps through an external link). But of course, it would take a fair bit of work and more than just one guy to make it happen.

In the meantime if the response continues to be positive I could do these rankings once or twice a year, when I have some time. And I would be open to suggestions too...

Rooster, Thank you for this.
Seriously professional work and an outstanding reference for both the dealers and the forum.
I'm kinda proud to have participated.

Yeah i like to add something here.
I'm a noob. Interested for about a year, around in replicas maybe 3or4 months. It took me a couple of emails to understand how to take him. We had some sorting out to do (I'll tell another time) and we had frequent emails going back and forth between us.

After a while it dawned on me that it is just a very straightforward fast no-nonsense style of communication. Because when I see how much he writes in the fora (here and elsewhere) and how fast he replies to communications, I realized that he can't afford to write novels like i tend to do it.

So yeah, not for the "Amazon-Noob" but for those noobs willing to learn the rep-trade (like me) try him out.

At the end (i think Robert might agree) he wants to have your money, he just hasn't the time to put up with bullsh*t :)

Couldn't agree more about Robert. Just the other day I had an email exhange with him about a potential order, and I could tell that after the second email he kind of just wanted me to piss off. Fair enough, as my questions were a bit unusual. In the end he may come across as grumpy and not willing to hold anyone's hand, but he's a no-nonsense kind of guy and a great asset to the community. Importantyly, he's one of the few dealers who actually takes an active role in the forum. I have a lot of respect for the guy. As for the comment that you quoted, I may not agree with it, but I just had to put it in because I want these ratings to be 100% honest and transparent. There is absolutely nothing that transpired from the survey that was not reported here, whether I agree with it or not.

Rooster, thanks for putting the survey together and analyzing/summarizing the data. Excellent and extremely valuable work!

One thing that is extremely important to me, and from the survey seems to be the most important issue for most people when choosing the dealer is quality control. We read these posts daily about people asking what to do, how/if to send watches back, who should pay for shipping etc. I realize that watches can fall apart on you on the way, but in most instances it mostly seems to be laziness on the dealers part. I really cannot understand why it is so freaking hard to give the watch a visual check before sending it. It annoys the buyer, it is a cost for the buyer to send it back, but also a cost for the dealer since he/she usually pays the second shipping. Ok, end of ranting. However, I would really want to know how many watches people have bought from the different dealers, how many had quality issues and how many had to be sent back to be replaced. The dealer with the highest (total numbers bought)/(total with quality issues) ratio would be my next dealer, even at a higher cost! Would you check that for us, pleeaaase? :D

Cheers, Xplodr

Rooster, it took a lot of initiative to come up with this and then to execute it in the way you did. I'm impressed that you were able to get so many members to participate in it as well. And, um, I'm glad that you'll get rewarded with lots of rooster sex. :)

One thing that I would like to everyone to remember is that no matter what the ratings, we're rating the TRUSTED dealers, and those dealers are considered trusted for good reason. So, for example, I've only made a handful of purchases and some of them were from the bottom two dealers on the list. Yet, I know from personal and staff experience that both of those dealers have demonstrated good commitment to customer satisfaction and I would buy from either of them again without hesitation. Occasionally a thread about someone's dissatisfaction will just happen to catch everyone's attention and all of a sudden, a terrible dealer has been born. But keep in mind that not everyone has reasonable expectations and sometimes stuff is just luck of the draw.

I absolutely agree! Taking care of the customers also after the sales is extremely important, but still, several of our dealers could do things right from the beginning...

Can't agree more as well.
I have an outstanding order with one of the dealers from the very bottom of the survey.
However it is just a bit slow, that happened with other dealers before as well. But i'm so far very happy about the communication and service i received etc. And i'm very confident that i will receive what i ordered.

@AHW: very true!! Seasoned members might realise that, but noobs should be reminded that what we are comparing here is a bunch of really good dealers.

To use a simple metaphor, this survey can be compared to a drag race between a Ferrari, a Lamborghini and a Maserati. There are going to be slight differences at the finishing line, but they're all pretty bloody good cars. No one would argue that the last to cross the line is a slow car. Now, if we were to throw into the mix other rep dealers not vouched by RWI, it would be like throwing in a Fiat, a couple of Skodas, a Lada, a Trabant and a Ford Pinto in the drag race... I guess what I'm trying to say is that even the worst RWI dealers are awesome dealers in the big scheme of things. Noobs reading this post should be reminded of that. And after all, there have been some major changes between the last three rankings, showing that things are far from stable over time.

@Exploder: thanks for the suggestion. I will certainly keep it in mind. ;)

I totalled a Ford Pinto within two months of getting my license when I was sixteen. :)

Wasn't the Ford Pinto pretty much capable of totalling itself?

I think that was the car that was supposed to explode if it got rear ended or something. Of course, mine was a head on collision. I was a lousy driver for the first couple of years. :)

LOL! Yeah that car would spontaneously combust!! I wonder if anyone here remembers the movie "Top Secret"... Every time I think of a Pinto I think of this scene:

Anyway, that was slightly off topic... To bring this back on track: I have added a couple of lines in the introduction of the rankings to remind everyone that all of the trusted dealers can and should be trusted... Even those at the bottomo of the list. There are definitely no Pintos among the dealers. ;)

Excellent display of the results. Really like the graphs. Appreciate the work you put into this.
And yes, it sure does deserve a pin. :D
