The Dick Clark Caravan of Stars Tour began

I played at the Tri State fairground at Amarillo with the Yardbirds to begin the Dick Clark Caravan of Stars tour. At this point there were five Yardbirds, but during the course of this tour there were to be four. The stars' caravan was actually an overcrowded 'Greyhound' bus.

As a side note: I am being informed that Robert Plant has in fact Married Patty Griffin...Still waiting on conformation.

Outrider played The Centrum, Worcester, MA

We play at The Centrum Worcester, which was one of the best shows we played on the '88 tour. Robert Plant with his solo tour, had re-routed to start following up our dates and in fact, at Worcester, he played the following day on the 30th. He disguised himself and slipped in to see the show. It's a shame he didn't say hello. Read local newspaper review
Also on this day Chris Dreja photographed the members of Led Zeppelin for the back cover of Led Zeppelin I in 1968.

IV AT 40 – LED ZEPPELIN IV EXHIBITION WITH UNIQUE POSTER PRINTS AT THE FLOOD GALLERY IN GREENWICH LONDON FROM NOVEMBER 17TH

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of Led Zeppelin IV, The Flood Gallery in Greenwich Market London will be staging a special exhibition running from November 17th to November 24th.
The exhibition will feature eight unique original art prints with designs inspired by and representing the eight individual tracks – namely Black Dog, Rock And Roll, The Battle Of Evermore, Stairway To Heaven, Misty Mountain Hop, Four Sticks, Going To California and When The Levee Breaks.
Designed by a selection of the leading American poster artists, the set of eight poster prints are being produced in a strictly limited edition run of around 200 prints each and each print will be signed and numbered by the artist. Together they will form a highly collectable set of art work celebrating the landmark 40th anniversary of Led Zeppelin’s biggest selling album.
The eight unique designs will be unveiled from 8pm on the evening of Thursday 17th November at the Flood Gallery’s Greenwich Market location. A number of the artists will be available to discuss their pieces on the night. Dave Lewis and the TBL crew will also be in attendance and we look forward to seeing all that can make it along. The Flood Gallery will also be open late on the evenings of Friday November 18th and Saturday November 19th.
A limited amount of the prints will be available for pre-order from www.thefloodgallery.com. Any remaining copies will be put online for sale after the exhibition.

'Writes of Winter'
was nominated for a
Grammy Award

Well lo and behold, never having had a Grammy nomination from anything before, 'Writes Of Winter' from the Outrider album was mysteriously nominated in the instrumental category today in 1987. I wasn't going to hold my breath and it's just as well I didn't because I still wouldn't have a Grammy but hey- I got a nomination.
