is all true!!

Just got my UPO (45.5mm) today from a member on RWG and I am amazed. This is my 4th rep and this is by far the best. It may not be the most accurate but the feel is just amazing.

The only negative thing I have to say about it is the bracelet is just a pain to resize...it took me almost two hours and a couple of broken pins even with proper equipment. But once I got it on my wrist I haven't been able to take it off.

Now off to find gen crystal and dial...

there should be a special forum badge that every member gets when they suffer the pain and resize their own PO bracelet.

Maybe a tee shirt that says, "I re-sized my UPO bracelet myself and all I got was this lousy tee shirt"

Great watch. Looks really big on you mate;)

Yeah it's pretty big on me but it actually wears small than I imagined. I wouldn't mind the new 42mm version but I don't like the design of the bezel on those.

oddly enough...>>>

The ONLY easily re sizable PO bracelets are those accursed ones with screws rather than pins !!
OH WAIT!!....NOW Omega uses screws too..!!!
And f you think re sizing one is a pain, wait till you try switching parts !!....
I have handled virtually DOZENS of rep Omega bracelets of most designs, and I've NEVER been able to use parts interchangeably..!!

Funny, the UPO is the only watch I've ever resized myself (just got my kit from amazon like a day before my UPO arrived). I guess I just assumed all watches were going to be as big of a pain in the ass as the UPO was!

Why is resizing a PO so difficult? Is it the pins that look like screws? The only time I had problems was when I tried to use those silly pin pushers and bent the hell out of them. With
the proper tools, bracelet pins are easily tapped out with a punch and hammer. That's how jewelers and watch repairers do it. I've never seen a pro use those useless "pin pushers".

It also helps when you push them out the right way; they only go in/out one way and trying to go the other way is an exercise in frustration....don't ask me how I know ;)

Anyways I found a better solution: Maratac!

Oh yeah, the pins have a slotted end and a rounded end. To remove, tap on the rounded end so that the slotted end comes out first. To reinsert, tap on the slotted end. I think there are videos that show how to punch pins out.

The UPO that I have didn't actually have a split end actually...not sure if it's true for all UPOs or just mine but either way it really was a pain...I tried both the pin pushers and hammers. The pins just fit way too tightly in the tubes in the center link.

I was thinking of replace one of the full links with a half link but I figured I don't have the time or the energy to do it all over again. Still a great watch though!

Don't laugh I'm a wuss... I tried couldn't do it so I gave it to my WatchSmith... mother f*&%$ charged me $20... first he was like $10 then when he asked his friends... he changed his mind because of what the rumors were. I was like... okay fine, if I don't do this I will never be able to wear my frickin' bond...

I didn't dare to bring to watchsmith for a counterfeit product for resizing...

In the end, I just dump the cheapo PO watch.

Why? I've taken a ton of reps to be sized. There's nothing wrong with it, and there's nothing wrong with having cheap reps. I've never heard a bad story about taking a rep to have it sized. Not like a watchsmith can seize it, unless you're stupid enough to take it to an AD to have it sized.

An independent watch smith cares much more about your money than blowing the whistle on your watch.
No worries.

I've done it beofre with rediculously cheap Submariner reps that wouldn't pass muster at a Wal-Mart, and it's never mattered at all.

No worries.

Watch smith usually are also AD for certain brand of watch.

Nowadays there is no pure watch smith. You can't survive just servicing watch alone. Almost all top /skill watch smith involved selling second hand gen watch in their shop.

So they are very resistant to have a replica doing in their shop. They afraid someone spotted it may report them and they will lose their ADship or credibility.

Asking me to bring a rep into their shop is like asking me to sucide. Unless its a super rep like Tag Aquaracer 2000 which is almost faultless compare to gen only when he opens the backcase then he will know its a rep.
