OK, I have studied up on this for a couple of weeks and all I would like is your opinion on ONLY these two watches. Which one is closer to gen? Please do not chime in with other makes and models. I am trying to get a consensus for only these two models:

WM9 (Watchmaker 9) 2007 Z-Serial Submariner 16610

VS.

Eurotimez Euromariner

I understand the fact that CG's are never perfect, inserts have to be milled down and that pearls have to be changed. The focus of this inquiry is to see which model has the more correct case dimensions, rehaut depth and rehaut thickness.

If you could buy either of the two watches (knowing that you could get the pearl changed out, the insert milled down and the CG's shaved) and also keeping in mind that they would come with the exact same ETA SWISS 2836-2 movement, which one would you buy?

Those of you in the know should have no problem voicing your opinions. Thanks!

(Edit: More pics of Euromariner are on page 3 of this thread)

Re: The be all and end all...for now

From what I have seen the WM9 is NOT worth the money. Your dollars would be WAY better spent on a BK mariner. WM9 doesnt even get the cg's right. And BK is the only one I know who mods the bezel so its recessed like the gen. I am not familier with the other. Sorry to mention the BK (you said not mention other brands) but if you are looking for the best Rollie rep you would be foolish not to consider one.

Thanks for the input Coop! The Euromariner was posted about on RWG. It is a combination of Noob bracelet and dial with an MBK case. I will post the full specs for this model if it will assist the forum members.

The new MB case does not have the cg's correct unless modded. Also I have seen some that from the side look like the cg's are to pointy.

Re: The be all and end all...for now

according to rbj the wm9 sub has the bezel assy made like a gen, clicker and all. he didn't comment about the insert. he has a blue tt working on it now and he said it was the best he has seen so far. he also commented the gold was the correct color and didn't appear to be plated. he said he wasn't sure if it was 18k or exactly what they had done but it looked very good. i haven't seen it myself.

Lulz:

Grading: Grade 1, (AAA)

Estimate Value: $1,000 US dollar, click to see references: reference 1, reference 2, reference 3

Additional Comments: This is the finest quality reproduction you can find on the market. Other Swiss replica dealers are offering this great timepiece at $1,000 US dollar. Buy this great watch directly from WATCHMAKER9, the expert of Swiss ETA mechanical watches, at manufacturer's cost those dealers purchase from us: $572.99 US dollar, safely with much less money.

i guess i don't understand the problem, trusty's ultimate extra water sealed bla bla bla sub is near the same price shipped. this one is definitely better than it imho.

i can't access trusty'site from work. just go to his site and look at all the sub's, you will see it.

Again, neither of these have the recessed bezel insert like a gen. Which is a dead give away IMO. Look in BK section, he compares the inserts so you can see what the diff is. You will have to do the cg's on both.

Also, $572. No way I would spend that. There is no way he bulids these himself if you ask me. He has a supplier just like the other dealers but marks his stuff up even more. The case on Joshs beginmariner looks better.

I guess when you take into consideration where these pictures are coming from an analysis is kind of useless.

Re: The be all and end all...for now

And off we go into the never ending circle again..LOL

Ok here is the deal, after reading forums for weeks, the majority of the experts seem to have sided with BKM and WM9s. The new Euromariner shook things up a bit. The pecking order (as I have seen it) goes like this...

1. Vietnamese case - Holy Grail
2. WM9
3. Euromariner
4. BKMariner
5. Noob

Recently the Euromariner was released and it caused quite a stir being called the best "out-of-the box" Sub ever made by some of the experts with like 4000+ posts.

Since the Euromariner has been given so many accolades I was interested in what the community over here had to say for just a comparison of the WM9 and the Euromariner.

I know everyone loves BK's watches, they are outstanding. I am just attempting to keep my goal on track and using historical consensus, and put the new kid on the block (Euromariner) up against the watch that I have seen most people agree on as the current benchmark in Sub reps (WM9).

Maybe after I get a clear answer on this one, I will put the BKMariner up against the winner in this thread.

Why? I thought that the reason that these dealers were "trusted" was because they provide actual pictures of the watches that they are selling?

trust me when i tell you that none of our dealers has his tt model and it is by far the best one out there with no bracelet pin holes through the lugs.

Re: The be all and end all...for now

Re: the recessed insert, it is like a 20 min fix. That was the second mod I ever did and it was a no-brainer.

I would like to (respectfully) keep this thread focused...

If you could buy either of the two watches posted at the beginning of this thread (knowing that you could get the pearl changed out, the insert milled down and the CG's shaved) and also keeping in mind that they would come with the exact same ETA SWISS 2836-2 movement, which one would you buy?

the inserts and pearls are not very good anyway so it is a non issue. it will need to be replaced and all you do is sand the new one down before installing. i am pretty sure a gen insert will snap into the tt version. i would imagine it is the same as the ss but i do not know that for a fact.

i would buy the wm9. i have a brand new noob bracelet just sitting here waiting for a watch. lol
