What are your thoughts on dealers who Photoshop QC photos?

What about member to member sales, don't certain members paticularly the ones adept at photography touch up their watch photos when selling?

That's more akin to dealers touching up their sale photo's, which is something they actually do by the way and are allowed to do, I see no problem with that. Quality Control photo's are very different, and no member here who is honest would do what those mentioned here are doing which is photoshopping things OFF of the watches. Members here sell watches, same as dealers do on their main pages. Our members are not required to also post QC pics. Members tend to just snazz sales up with great lighting, colour edits etc.

Been reading this thread with a growing sense of unease with every post.

The whole point of Quality Control is to take an unvarnished, unbiased look at a product, measuring it against a standard in order to determine whether it meets approval, pass or fail. If you're not meeting the first condition, i.e., not looking at the actual product with all of its warts and blemishes, then you cannot, by definition, determine whether it passes or fails.

Period.

Rolly, I'm glad WE gave you a kick-ass watch and that you're happy with it. But a good outcome does NOT equal a good process.

Ban worthy? Maybe. Maybe not. Permanently off my personal list of dealers? Bet your ass.

I fully understand that wiscrna, however WE have have been bollocked by the site team and they have given their word it will never happen again. Like I said earlier everyone deserves a second chance if they agree to mend their ways and stick to it.

After all how many of the TD's can you say are 100% straight up honest? I read in thread after thread that the dealers word should be taken with a pinch of salt, as they tend to bend the truth!!

Yup. They gave their word. And they know there will be some gimlet-eyed people with zero sense of humor watching this particular issue like a hawk. So I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that they will be perfectly honest and forthright from this point forward.

On this issue.

However, as my wife is so good at pointing out, I have a very cynical slant to my persona. I tend to quickly see the possible negatives in any given situation. So in my mind, as TB pointed out, what other corners are they cutting? Do not for an instant think that there aren't any.

As I said, though, I'm very glad your watch was a keeper! And if you are personally satisfied that WE is someone you wish to deal with, then by all means, please do.

For me, though...there are some lines that can't be retreated from. This would be one of them. For others, it won't be such a big deal. That's the beauty of an open marketplace. There are some dealers that others dislike, that I have zero problems with. To each their own.

The underlying theme here is that it's awesome that RWI has our backs on this. Maybe we should thank them with more than kind words. :)

How hard is it not to Photoshop?

Glad to hear your watch came through but watch Eden couldn't even listen to simple instructions that involved them doing LESS work.
Trusted dealer here but I would never recommend them.

So which dealer would you recommend? Im quite confused being an amateur and really would like to begin purchasing a collection of replicas and I was going to purchase from WE. After this incident im kind of scratching my head here.

I read this thread and subsequently ordered from WE and had no problems (see my review in WE review section).
