Is the Ceramic still considerd really brittle or did they fix it ?
Unless there's something I missed, there's been no indication from the dealers or factories that the brittle ceramic has been addressed, or if it was a single batch, etc. I've been watching from afar as I really like the ceramic version's appearance and the thought of a material that won't scratch is appealing to me. If this has been addresseda and I missed it, I'd like to know myself.

Where I need to be.
Ceramic will always be brittle. But they did space out the links on the bracelet to make it less vulnerable.
Yes you’re technically correct. From dental bridges to watches to kitchen utensils to even car brakes, ceramic is very hard, but relatively brittle.
The gen 26240CE uses a different quality of ceramic from the rep and this is visually evident in the color tone, finish and smoothness of the material. On its own the rep 26240CE may look and feel alright but next to the gen the differences are very salient by look and feel.
Having said that, I have no doubt that the gen case and/or bracelet will crack or shatter if dropped from a height of about 3-4ft. Gen or rep they have to obey the same laws of material strengths and weaknesses without exception. We can talk about different strength or resiliency level but I don’t think there’s such a thing as unbreakable or impact-immune ceramic.
On the flip side, if the gen bracelet breaks due to impact there is zero warranty given and it’s a very expensive price to pay for the replacement. If the rep one breaks the bracelet is relatively cheap to replace, and one can even write off the bracelet and wear the watch on rubber or leather straps if desired.

The promo pic looks like the photo off the AP site TBH, so I don’t think we can take anything from that pic.

Hmm… It seems like my eyes have super enlarged microscope vision :)

I see it and I just cant unsee it just like pizza hand of zf 15202

Love the great work by the way.

If there might be a modder, who can plate the subdial ring and make it look thicker, I would love to pay.

FYI
- I also believe this watch has great value for money , so not complaing
- Everyone has different point for ‘just can’t stand it’
- I would just love to find method to fix my painpoint using more money ( other than buying gen 26240 or gen dial, because I still think watch will prob be a little big for my wrist.)
For me is the best way actually green and white.

I just received the ceramic 26240 as well as the set of bezel screws from Watch2Parts. The reviews about the watch are out there, so I don't have much to add. It's a great rep, and hopefully they fixed the cracking issue that a few people had with the ceramic bracelet.

Now, there was some discussion earlier about whether the bezel screws from Watch2Parts actually fit the rep 26240 and whether they're worth the additional cost. I ordered the screws before the contradictory posts on here -- some said they fit, one or two others said they didn't. I'm happy to say that they fit my watch just fine. They're definitely a tighter fit than the stock screws, which is a good thing since the stock screws are usually a bit too small for the hexagonal hole, thus making the screws hard to align. Also, the central cutout line on the bezel part of the screw seem to be better aligned on the aftermarket screws, but that varies dramatically from watch to watch. I don't think my watch had particularly bad bezel screws to begin with, so while I don't regret the $280 I splurged on getting these tiny parts, I'm not sure if everyone would find value in that unless your screws really look terrible.

Anyways, here are some pics. The first is the stock rep, then a pic of the screws, then a pic of the rep with aftermarket screws. You be the judge.

You can see the improvement imho.

But it proves the point and it just goes to show how much that last 10% of "fine detailing" and "precision" actually cost for tighter tolerance.

$280 is the same price as a VSF Youth Submariner for 8 fasteners.... and 1/3rd the cost of the whole rep itself.....

Thank you for sharing. To be honest I can still see the gaps between the screws (bolt heads) and the slots with the aftermarket screws, but the screws themselves seem to be better machined where the middle groove lies.
Also I think even on my gen 26240CE the bezel screws aren’t fitting perfectly as well.
I’ll post a pic when I get time and we can have a good laugh at it. 🤣
