Flat links on a super jubilee bracelet. Didn't think Rolex would do that on such a iconic bracelet.

Of course Rolex hops on the integrated bracelet trend.... 3 years after everyone else did it. Conservative 🤣

Would any company seriously schedule a product release for April 1st?
Nikon moved their next announcement from the accustomed workday to the next workday, to not collide with April 1st in some regions of the world.

Breaking Down Rolex’s 2025 Teaser: Is The Land-Dweller Real?

by Skyler Nielsen-Sorensen
Rolex just released its official teaser video ahead of Watches & Wonders 2025—and while it doesn’t show much, what it does show is enough to make one thing clear: a new model is coming.
Let’s take a closer look at the details.

A New Bracelet Design

The standout element in this teaser is the bracelet. It appears to be a five-link design, reminiscent of a Jubilee bracelet, but with flat links and a hidden clasp. It resembles the integrated bracelet shown in the now-infamous “Land-Dweller” leak from a couple weeks ago. While we can’t confirm from this video whether the bracelet is fully integrated into the case, the visual similarity to the Land-Dweller concept is striking. This could very well be Rolex’s first true integrated-bracelet model since the Oysterquartz, which also had flat links like this.

Cyclops, Crown, and Case Profile

We also get a glimpse of the case profile, which shows a steel Twinlock crown (not Triplock, not precious metal), a Cyclops magnifier over the date window, and a fluted bezel. The inclusion of the Cyclops confirms this watch will have a date function—just like the leaked Land-Dweller render that made the rounds earlier this year.

Syloxi Engraving and a New Movement

Another shot reveals the word “Syloxi” engraved in what’s likely the balance bridge. This tells us the movement includes Rolex’s silicon hairspring, previously used in only a few models (like the Oyster Perpetual 34 and select ladies’ Datejust references). Alongside that, the teaser shows what appears to be a new escapement—something far more ornamental than what we’re used to seeing from Rolex.

While we can’t confirm whether this watch has a display caseback, the presence of a ‘Syloxi’ engraving and visually distinct movement architecture strongly suggests it might. Rolex has started integrating display casebacks into more of its lineup (1908, platinum Daytona), and if this is a new movement that includes both a Syloxi hairspring and a refined escapement, it wouldn’t be surprising if Rolex wanted people to actually see it.

Could This Be a Datejust Evolution?

This is the 80th anniversary of the Rolex Datejust, and this new model could be tied to that celebration. The Cyclops confirms a date complication, there's clearly a fluted bezel, and the Land-Dweller leak—visually echoed here—was clearly inspired by the original Oysterquartz Datejusts. The teaser could be hinting at an evolution of the Datejust line: a new platform, new movement, and modernized design that still carries the Datejust DNA. Of course, it could also be something entirely new.

“Building Tomorrow. Here and Now.”

Throughout the teaser, Rolex flashes the phrases “Building tomorrow” and “Here and now.” It’s not hard to interpret this as a message about longevity. This isn’t a one-off. It’s a new, forward-looking model with long-term importance, possibly even the start of a new family in Rolex’s catalog.

Looks like the land dweller is confirmed…what in the world were they thinking with that dial…

My initial reaction to this was it looked good. But they mashed up a Datejust with a fluted bezel with an Explorer dial, the honeycomb datejust dial and threw in an AP bracelet/AP or Oysterquartz case. It seems like they lost the plot with this one. They tried to make a "greatest hits" watch and came up with this one. The more I think about it, I'm not a fan. Although that new bracelet clasp looks promising. I wish they'd just come up with a unique design with that integrated bracelet and maybe they'd have something.

See you in 2028 when they might come up with something unique to use that bracelet with.

Sorry but this beast is ugggggleee to me. And the name? Huh!? Guess they wanted EVERYONE to feel included - "Hey that's me" they'll all say.

New movement - 7135. Maybe it'll count your steps as you dwell across the land. 😄

If a rep of this comes up, I will mod it to a modern Oyster-not-quartz

Are you already taking orders?

I second this - hell I might just jump on the first one with a usable case and bracelet and some kind of non clone movement and try my luck at putting a vintage inspired day date in there with closed case back to emulate the rumored day date integrated prototypes from back in the days.

@dpd3672 has already done this based on a DHGate PRX rep

Ah he progressed further? Will check his thread again - thanks for the reminder!

It just dawned on me that we will probably never see a more oyster style reimagined due to the prx.

They missed it with the dial. Should have kept the classic DJ styling. Everything else is fine I guess.

Also a rare miss with the name Land Dweller lol It's garbage level Chinese Homage naming convention. If SM released a land dweller people would roast the name.

They broke alot of conventions, see through caseback, integrated bracelet (altho one can make an argument all rolexes basically designed on bracelet/integrated), no ROLEXROLEX rehaut but a sloped rehaut. New hand styling and seconds hand styling.

It's very sporty imho. Maybe not for everyone though. And lowkey a PRX would fill the same niche in a collection.

I like it! With the different dial colors that are definitely going to come eventually, this is gonna be a banger!
