Hi friends I am interested in purchasing Day Date 40 228235 Rose Gold
From one of the Trusted Dealers My problem is that I can't get real pictures of the watch so that I can choose the watch that comes close to the quality of the original, it's an expense of $500 and I don't want to just waste the money buying a low quality watch
what can i do? I am attaching links to the suppliers if you know/can help me choose, I would be happy

This is how it is done. The dealers get the watch from the factory after you pay. They send you photos of the watch for your approval. If you approve of that watch they send it on to you.

If you have a reasonable reason to refuse a watch they will source another. Asking people to approve your watch photos on this forum is not going to end well- you need to do your own research and understand the known flaws in the models you are interested in. No one will babysit you in your purchase.

Please be mindful that both what you and what the dealers are doing is ILLEGAL. This entire enterprise is a gamble- if your stick you the rules with TDs you will likely get a great watch- but it will NOT be just like a genuine watch. There are no real guarantees in this. Do not invest any money in this you cannot afford to lose. If you think your watch is going to be just like your rich uncles gen watch you are in for big disappointment.

Jtime, pure time, and mirotime are good dealers and will take care of you. Never heard of power time.

Be SURE you are using the website addresses listed in the TD section in this forum. Google results are all scams and your will lose your money. The TDs change their website addresses every so often- you have to be vigilant.

Good luck

I understand that you're trying to manage expectations here, but this does seem a little OTT.

If the OP chooses any current top-range rep, then to all intents and purposes it will be just like a genuine watch. And their rich uncle won't be able to tell the difference between their gen watch and the nephew's $500 rep - unless uncle is an absolute watch nut/expert (i.e. a member of RWI).

However, it's not a genuine watch, it's a Chinese copy - which means they'll have to find someone willing to service it and fix it if it breaks, and the likelihood of it breaking is increased over a gen due to the relative difference in quality of materials, parts manufacture and assembly. But even so, there's many, many members here with watches that have run trouble-free for years. And that's older reps - the current rep market is at an all-time quality high.

When he used the term "low quality watch" I just wanted to be sure he understood there is a difference between a genuine watch and a replica. He seems to be very new and I simply wanted him to manage his own expectations- and hopefully be pleasantly surprised.

@Sarel3739 You also need to be extremely careful where you are buying from. Two of your links in the OP - Mirotime and Powertime - are NOT Trusted Dealers. Only use RWI Trusted Dealers, and always get their URL and contact details from their forum sub-sections, NOT GOOGLE. And for new members, I always recommend J-Time. Li is helpful and comms are good (via WhatsApp).

Also, I hadn't paid any attention whatsoever to what model of rep you were interested in. Now I've noticed that it's a rose "gold" plated rep, my comments will align far more closely with Pinion Minion's. Any "gold" rep is far, far easier to tell apart from the real thing. The rep factories all struggle to get the gold tone right, the "gold" material isn't gold, and the plating is generally thin and prone to wear and tarnishing. Two tone reps tend to look and wear better than full gold, but in general, IMO, gold isn't something the rep factories do well.

I've had a healthy number of quality reps during the years, but I've never had a fake gold one, let alone a Rolex Day Date (a.k.a. "President") in gold. That is probably the most in-the-face watch money can buy, as everyone, even non-watch people, can identify it as a super expensive and super flashy watch, and if your lifestyle doesn't align with purchasing and wearing such a watch, you'll out yourself as a fake rather quickly.

I suggest you shop for a stainless steel Rolex, such as a Datejust. If you order one from one of the TDs, using the links you find on this Web site, you will receive a quality watch that can last you a long time. All TDs get their watches from the same factories, and the price alone will tell you if it's a great quality watch or a cheapie. These days, $500 is the price you'll have to pay for a quality Rolex replica.

Thank you very much, dear friends, I of course understand that a replica will never be like the original, and of course I only buy from the TD section in this forum, but I want to buy this model in its best form that I can buy at the price of $500
So I am asking them for real pictures of the watch to check how close it is to the original in terms of the color rose gold. Do you have any advice on how to do this test?

This unfortunately sounds like an impossible ask. Putting two photos of gold watches taken in completely different lighting conditions next to each other is a pointless exercise. Gold is very difficult to photograph accurately - and to get anything even close to a comparison, you’d need to see the rep in the same photo as a gen, under really even lighting. And that’s never going to happen.

As @Hesekiel already mentioned, a full gold rep Rolex is probably the worst option. If it were me, I’d be looking at a two-tone Day-Date as an acceptable alternative.

You're absolutely right, but still it's terribly annoying that they don't allow you to get pictures in normal lighting to measure the gold tone, I'll probably unfortunately buy a Pepsi

It's not that they don't allow. The TD needs to secure the watch after you pay for it. After that they share QC pics with you.

We agree with that. You know what you buy : a replica. However it's noyt a surprise if the watch have problems few years later. If you want you can change the movement.

The color of gold will be "off" and an instant tell when you place the rep next to the gen. I have bought half a dozen gold/two-tone reps and always been disappointed by the color of gold/rose gold, poor finish around edges of bracelet, and durability of wrap.

I can imagine nothing worse for TD’s and the forum than a bunch of noobs ‘measuring’, asking and commenting on gold tones in a QC pic.

Just received my Olive Dial DayDate RG from InTime yesterday and all I can say is WOW. The added weight from the tungsten and the rose gold plating is phenomenal. They’ve definitely upped their game on the plating of this one.

I’ve tried to colour-correct the pics so the gold tone is as close to actual as possible. (White balance correction makes taking accurate pics of gold notoriously impossible).
