The dial doesn’t look too good as in the meteorite pattern, colour is yellowish. Nothing like some of the other rep meteorite dials at the moment eg. gmf’s daydate which actually looks nice.
Need to see some detailed dial photos. I can imagine a large markup for this just because of the dial.
Insert is still cf’s so no improvement there

my sources tell me that this is not a true 3285 clone, but a modified 3185. Curious to know the truth!!!

How’s the dial lume material compared to the hands? From the photos it Looks like the standard pinkish cf lume on the dial Markers and greenish tint hands

Dials look like they have texture and might be decent. The date window frame looks too wide (thick) leaving less room for the date to look correct. Separately, the single digit date looks too left justified.

It should look a "little" left due to the angle of view, but that is a lot. More pics will show this detail better.

Are my eyes deceiving me?

Edit:
Single digit date looks much better centered laterally in the pic below. When the viewing angle increases the cyclops border around one side of the date window (in the pic below the cyclops border appears wider on the bottom), it pushes the appearance of the date to the opposite direction. The thicker than gen date window frame actually truncates some of the date from view.

Dial looks to me very washed out and white compared to the gen which is always pictured as a shade of silver. Hopefully just lighting.

Video of the new movement... it looks like there is a new GMT movement based on the vr3235 or vs3235. Or at least the rotor is different.

There were some more pictures posted on Reddit, dial looks disappointing. Will wait to see the QC pics I suppose or a video - but dial looks cheap.

To my untrained eye, is that a 3285? In side by side pictures, it seems like a clone movement rather than decorative. Can someone confirm?

It looks like a GMT version of the vr3235 movement. That’s potentially good news. The vr3235 is a good movement. As long as they didn’t use a weak hour jumping spring system in the motion works, this could be a nice addition to the rep movement options we have.

Do we know if this movement is exclusive to C+F or will others bring this movement to their GM2s?

The new 3285 movement is showing all indications of being based on VS and not VR.

Some key identifiers:
The hole in the train bridge for the intermediate wheel is much larger on the VS

The jump click spring must be like the 3186 (and gen 3285) and not the VR's 3185 style. Let's hope it's not as fragile as it looks in that 3285 pic.

VR's unbreakable 3185 jump click, used on all VR GMT movements

VS Datewheel has more pointy teeth, VR's are rounded. VS date jumper is short. VR's is longer. VS has paraflex balance shock absorber. VR has KIF springs. All these VS features are 32xx gen-spec, VR's features are like the 31xx.

These are other indicators but this is enough IMO to conclude this is based on the VS3235. I wonder if they've tagged it with a name yet.

A big advantage to a clone 3285 movement is it should take a gen 3285 dial natively with the friction fit dial underside rims. Interestingly it looks like there are dial feet holes at ~55 and ~25 minutes so maybe you could use an earlier model dial with feet reglued to those locations. You can see what looks like the foot screw hole on the movement edge at ~25 mins.

The meteorite dial is indeed a disappointment - it needs more darker grey and even blackish tones. Kind of hard to justify an instant plunge purchase.

VR was quick about making an oversize date plate for the DJ41. Can we expect one for the EXP42? I don't see why not.

This is actually pretty huge news. If they do this for other models with their hybrid 3285 movement, I'll lose my mind AND wallet.
