I re-up this old thread because i own an AP 15300, now i would like to buy a 15400 with the 3120 Clone.

That said, i see that no 15400 is in the NWBIG list.
Why ?

The 3120 clone moveemetn seems good; the big problem is the thickness ?

Edit : ZF declares 10 mm thickness.
Gen is 9.8 mm , i cannot think that this is the reason why no 15400 rep (APS, JF or ZF) is NWBIG.

I think the thickness is good, the major problems are the slow date change, the different balance wheel and of course the overall finishing of the movement.

The list was created by someone and there is no official standard as to what is NWBIG or not. The W in the acronym stands for “Worth” which is a pretty subjective thing. I do not peruse it myself nor do I care what is on it. I make my own judgement for any watch and so should you.

If you like a watch then get it. Forget about the list, it is just a subjective list created by an individual. Make your own list, like I do! You don’t need consensus if you’re the one buying the wearing the watch.

I’m 100% certain, reading your posts, that your judgement is better than the guy who created the list when it comes to watches you are personally interested in sir. We should each have our own list and trust me, yours will be equally good, if not better than a list created by anyone else when it comes to your own watches.

Don't hesitate to take the ZF one, not listed but it doesn't matter

One more general thought about the APS watch.

In my opinion, the watch does not match the finish and quality of a JF. the strap doesn't feel valuable and the screws in the bezel don't look well adjusted. I also like the brushing much better at JF, and the dial also looks better processed at JF. my personal ranking is: 1st JF, 2nd ZF, 3rd APS (but +1 for the movement).
