I have a Western Arms Para Ordnance P1445 (gas blowback) that I use for off-season drills. My racegun is a doublestack Para so I maintain proper grip and feel during practice.

When it came in there were required stickers over the "factory" markings on the gun. These, of course, were removed almost instantly. :)

Para, Colt, Smith, Ruger and most other companies are not as "anal" and dead set on eradicating all unlicensed Airsoft.

Some airsoft companies like TM, KSC, Marushin and Maruzen, do actually license the trademarks from the respective companies, but not for everything, so that leads to unlicensed replicas.

For example Glock doesn't license ANY replicas. Walther does, but only to Umarex and to Maruzen. Marushin holds the license to most Colts and Rugers and WA licenses Colts, Berettas and Infinity FireArms.

The trick where the vendor hides the trades with tape or some goo, works for most airsoft, but if the package is opened and it contains a Glock or Walther the odds are not good that you'll get it.

This was not as bad a couple of years ago, but now it's a lot worse. In the US, Glock managed to muscle all the airsoft retailers into removing all Glock and look-alikes off their shelves.

WA has licensed Para outside the US, but mine came with the black goo which I removed.
This was a few years ago.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean, most of the vendors will apply the goo or tape over anything that looks even remotely like a trademark even on guns that are no longer under a enforceable license (public domain so to speak).

I got a Tanaka Luger that came with enough goo on it make a 1" ball after I peeled it off, same thing with a couple of Colt SAAs.

In any case, I guess better safe than sorry.

@P4GTR Nice Springer. Hydra-Shoks in the mag?

Yes sir. I've fired most everything out there in terms of handguns and the Springfield 1911 is a hit for me. I really can't say enough about how great it has proven itself to be. That is the Mil-Spec model in SS.

Probably because your magazine is a "universal" type (has two notches in the side to fit both commander and fullsize 45 gripframes). Neat trick, and great to know!!!

No, magazine doesn't fall to the floor. It sticks there, almost all the way in. Guess you have to try it to see if this works with your gun, but in my Kimber the magazine doesn't fall out. If you press the magazine release though it will fall out. So there must be some position were the magazine release spring still holds the clip in even though the clip is not quite fully inserted and no bullet will load when the slide is racked. If you look at my photo carefully you may be able to see the clip is out about 1/8th or 1/4th of an inch from full insertion. I don't ever remember seeing this "trick" or "safety" discussed anywhere. Think I found it by myself. Maybe someone else has heard of it or read it discussed some other place. I just don't remember seeing or hearing of it anywhere.

I keep a SIG220 in the headboard cubby, locked and loaded with a streamlight/laser combo on the front, and a gemtech blackside cause those things get LOUD inside. For ammo I reload, but for home use its factory Hydroshocks all the way, and I cycle my home ammo at least once per quarter. As Anopsis said earlier, you can NEVER fire too much of your defense ammo through what you want it to run in.

I keep a sig x-5 tactical in 9mm in my night stand, cocked and locked for immediate use. A Remy express 12g with 18 inch barrel next to the nightstand for the wife (loaded with birdshot) and an AR-15 happens to reside in the closet with the rest of my shooting gear.

If any of you are into sigs, I highly recommend SigForum.com they are a classy group of guys

I don't expect to use it, but I'm prepared to if needed. No runts in the house yet, and my lady has completed NRA safety (and advanced triggernick safety as well :) )

As you may have guessed by my name, I was a firearms fanatic before I got into watches.

Look in her eyes. You can tell she is very smart. Scary smart. She can see someone in the dark. No human can outrun her. Gunfire doesn't scare her. I have seen her bite through a cow's leg bone like it was candy. That's a Plott Hound.

Some free advice: NEVER forget to feed your puppies.

Yikes.
