It’s been a few days due to some poor air quality. How ironic that smoke in the air kept me from enjoying a smoke. Anyway today I had time for my guilty pleasure, the Drew Estates Dirt. Normally not into anything flavored but these are nice when time is short.

Tonight is a mystery cigar from a local shop here in Southern Idaho. The evening is finally cool enough to enjoy it and it’s a pretty good smoke for the nominal price I picked it up for

Finally back home for a few days and I broke out a house brand from a local cigar shop I’ve been aging for some time. I must say I will be stocking up on these because the price is good and what a wonderful smoke!

Smoked a Montecristo open regata yesterday evening. Enjoyed it quite a bit, but forgot to take a pic unfortunately.

A question aside, I hope that I am allowed to ask this here. If not I apologize for my ignorance.

Has anyone of you ever had brown sharp tasting liquid coming out of head end of the cigar when taking a puff? Had this a couple of times now, mainly some potent cuban smokes. Happened on straight cut & punched cigars. Really destroyed the experience for me …

Yep, it is tar. Has nothing to do with how you cut your cigar. Disgusting and due to badly processed/curated tobacco leaves (happens more and more often with Cubans… with all other ‘defects’, plugged, tunnelling, exposing wrappers, burned rubber taste, etc)

Hm yes I noticed that too. But hoped for an error on my part haha.

Thank you very much.

Some rubbish with no label from the bottom shelf

Draw it too tight very light flavour I suspect from my “visitor” collection probably Dominican or Honduran I suspect

Travel took me to Bend OR this week and I found a cool little cigar lounge called the Cigar Chapel. Had a nice house blend tonight but found some gems like a couple of Choiba Serie M, a nice Bishops Blend, an interesting Espinosa Wasabi and a bunch of others to stock humidor C. Definitely a great way to cap off a trip to the high desert! Now back to SLC to enjoy a few more of these

Yard work dictated a less than premium smoke this morning so out comes a mystery cigar that’s been used to help season a newer little humidor. Not quite a dog rocket but close. Hopefully the last of it’s kind in there :)
