Review of Upcoming RXF New Submariner 116610 LN and Comparison

Hello everyone,

RXF Factory is a new factory that has put in a lot of effort to release their upcoming Submariner 116610LN. Since the last accidental listing on my website, RXF Factory has been making some changes to their upcoming release.

What we know about it is that it is using 904L Stainless Steel case kit, with Asian 2824 Movement, and they are still making slight amendments before releasing it officially.

Here are some pictures that factory has provided before the release. This time they are teasing us with limited number of pics being sent to me each time to upload.

Edit:
RXF side has informed that they are actually a team from XF Factory that specialises in Rolex models.
They are planning to release more models in the future and this is just the start.




Bezel Insert Comparison:

RXF has made extra effort to ensure that the bezel insert sits just slightly below the bezel like the genuine.

SEL and Lug Comparison:

RXF has made the lug and SEL curves to be the same as the genuine. Even the height is almost equivalent.

Bezel Insert Markers Comparison:

RXF says that they use real platinum coating, and long experience of ceramic production, to produce the ceramic bezel for the Submariner, achieving quality closest to the genuine.

With 3D effect and exquisite workmanship, uniform and neat corners, does not blacken or fade.

RXF is willing to guarantee that the bezel is of top notch quality and will not have color fading issues.

Crown Position Comparison:

RXF has made a breakthrough in this for the crown position. They have adjusted the crown position to match that of the genuine with the Asian 2824 movement.

For experienced watch smiths and collectors, some are able to tell the difference between a rep and a gen just by looking at the crown position. Now that RXF has made this breakthrough, it is harder to differentiate.

Cyclops Coating Comparison:

RXF claims to be the only version among all major factories to do the coating correctly.

The color of the coating is the closest to the genuine, with minimal color difference.

Date Font & Cyclops Coating Comparison:

From the following, you can see that the coating of the cyclops is different throughout factories, and RXF has done well to replicate the gen.

By enlarging the on the date font, the prints are relatively clear and neat, and the positioning is just right, which is close to the genuine.

However, the quality is not perfect, and there are still differences, which RXF will be working on for future releases.

Front Overview & Dial Font Comparison

The overview of the Submariner among the major factories look good.

When you look closely, RXF coronet shape is well replicated. Font style, thickness and shape are similar to the genuine, and the 3D printing is closely similar to the gen.

Pinion Comparison:

RXF claims that they adopted similar technique to make the pinion as the gen.

By zooming in 20x, the size of the hole and shape looks similar, and when you look at it from the overview without magnifying, it is very difficult to tell from the gen.

Rehaut Comparison:

RXF rehaut font size and style closely resembles the gen here, with clear corners, and no messy strokes.

The engraving is still not perfect like the gen, but the workmanship is great here.

Etched Coronet Comparison:

According to RXF, the etched crown is not exactly an easy task to accurately laser onto the crystal at the correct position, and some will tend to be slightly off vertically or horizontally.

RXF claims to have high QC standards and have also replicated the number of dots and positioning of the etched coronet on the gen.

Even though from the pictures, you can tell it is not perfect, and there are still areas for improvement.

Dial Markers Comparison:

RXF says that they are using real Swiss grade lume for the markers.

RXF has also made the markers with rounded edges to replicate the gen, and claims the markers' edges have the same thickness as the gen.

While if you look closely, there are still noticeable differences, but they have done a pretty good job here, paying attention to the details.

Pearl & Bezel Triangle Comparison:

RXF has done quite a good job with the pearl's bracket. It is made very similar to the gen, although it might be just a little thicker on the edge.

There seems to be a color difference across all pictures, which could be due to color calibration on the camera. Despite that, the overall effect of the pearl looks good on the RXF, with the shape and radian seemingly close to the gen, achieving a similar jade like effect.

The triangle position from the edge on the RXF is a tad more than the gen. Although I will say it is a very good attempt here by RXF.

Thickness Comparison:

No explanation needed here.

Crystal Height Side Profile Comparison:


RXF factory says that they have put great emphasis on the height of the crystal and bezel.

They have made it very close to the gen, and the side profile looks good with the RXF.

Bracelet Links Comparison:


RXF factory says that they have paid extra emphasis on the bracelet links to make it as similar as the genuine.

The points as follows:

1) The mid links are installed without protrusion, like the gen, and it will not cause hurt by accident.
2) Edges of the links are rounded slightly like the gen, so that it does not have sharp edges.
3) The mid links are fully brushed like the gen.
4) The screws are installed and polished, so that the screws do not deform and have a better finishing and fitting on the links.

Bracelet Comparison:

RXF has taken the bracelets as below for comparison.

You can take a look and give your opinion.

Dial Dimple Comparison:

RXF has made the same slight dimple effect at the centre of the dial like the genuine.

2824 movement is very reliable, for me is enough as I won’t do any mod.

Yes, factory has plans to release the hulk and no date versions.
