I can't understand why anyone would sink this much time and effort into a project like this. Considering these 116710LN's were easily purchased pre owned on TRF or Chrono24 for about $7000-$8000 USD for the last couple years and even cheaper beyond that. You haven't saved money going this route, the gen case alone can't have a cost factored to it as it would be impossible to purchase.

I'm thinking out loud trying to wrap my head around this.

My gen cost £4700 brand new in 2017 from ancient and modern jewellers in blackburn,UK . Waited 6 weeks to receive watch. Granted they have doubled in price now they are discontinued in Basel 2019

To be fair, less than 4 months ago a friend of mine was selling one for 6.5k (EUR), 2008 but with a Rolex service certified in 2018, paper ecc. In Italy.

But obviously to each their own. Enjoy it!
