Thank you. That's what I thought. This is a stunning watch. Absolutely beautiful. Puretime.io has never let me down.

Thanks I had also collected the same info but your post really put a great illustration on the magnitude of the visible difference in a very easy to read format.
I guess my question was that I’m keen to know what’s your OWN personal preference after the in-depth comparison. For me if I’m to buy today I’d probably go with ARF as I mentioned, but I am actually holding off the purchase until probably NOOB fixed the bezel (and if possible the dial), or ARF get a working-chrono movement. Not too crafty with mods - my technical expertise (lack of!) is limited to removing bracelet links

If I had to choose a Daytona today, I would order a Black Ceramic Bezel Noob 116500. (The White Panda would be just as nice, but I like the Black.)
I could l live with the slightly different font on the Ceramic Bezel. I would also want to put a glass back on the watch to be able to see the 4310 movement.
If the Noob bezel did look really bad, it wouldn't be to difficult to have it replaced with an ARF or a newer one if Noob ever fixes it.
Most people are very happy with the new Chinese clone 4130 movement, but a few have had problems.
If the movement does break, you could try to have your TD fix or exchange it. Other wise it would be more cost effective to just buy a new watch.

The ARF uses a Chinese 7750 movement that has been used in replica Daytonas for a number of years, but not too many have anything good to say about it.
Many say the rotor is noisy and that the tick can be too loud. Some have replaced the rotor with a heavier one to get a better winding reserve, while some have just added some proper oil to quiet the rotor.
Some say that the limited 7750 Chronograph pushers push too hard and sometimes the Chronograph may not reset properly.

I believe the ARF and Noob factories mostly just assemble different parts provided by suppliers to make complete watches.
It is likely that Noob has an exclusive deal to purchase the clone 4130 movement, but that exclusive deal may have a time limit.
If ARF could somehow get the 4130 movement, I think almost everyone would prefer the ARF version.

At this point, both choices, ARF or Noob, each have different compromises. You would have to decide which you could live with.

In my humble opinion, the white 116520 straight up is great. I have one. The V2.2 might have a more refined bezel -- then again, it might not. It's not like the bezel right now is bad. Of course if they improve this they might have new "mistakes." The dial is really good, it doesn't need replacement. Again, just one guy's opinion.

Others with much more hands on experience than me, have said that the White 116520 SS Bezel was the best out of the box Noob.
The White and Black 116500 Ceramic Bezel Noobs may also now be at that level with the new Updated V2.2 dials.

Great work, thanks.

The noob bezel looks really poor and cheap in my opinion. Couldn’t live with that. Also the font on the dial is not all that is better on arf. The markers look a lot better on arf. IMHO.

So at this point a franken would be the only option for me since the movement in the arf is so crappy.

Nice 116500 Panda review with Great pictures...

OK fellas,

Just recieved my Noob Daytona v2.2 and its freakin awesome watch. Probably one of the best reps out of the box with the ARF SD43. The only issue is the Sherrifs on the R on the bezel but honestly I cant even tell in real life having the watch like 20cm from my face. We are looking at 30-50x zoomed pics here and in real life NO-ONE is going to tell that especially at a distance.

I cant stop wearing it non stop since it arrived yesterday. The operation of the chrono buttons feel so good just like genuine - love that clean crisp feel of a column wheel clutch.

Anyway here is some pictures. Its a stunner. No one gonna call you out on this one on the wrist.

Regarding the 4130 movement, it was already published 2 years ago in this section that noob paid for the development. The development took a break about 6 month because noob needed more money to buy some tools for some parts for the 4130. In Feb 18 the test phase was over and the first daytonas appeared at the TDs at end of March. I got my first black 116500 end of April 2018 and frankened it with a gen 116520 dial. The latest release of the black 116500 shows an updated bezel and smaller subdials. The color of the subdials is still not correct, it is a little shiny and should be more lighter and more mate. But better then bevore. Also the bezel got updated, still wrong fonts but the engraving is deeper then on V1. Hard to take pics of it.

I do not believe noob will give ARF access to the movement, but you never know. If the ROI is in, they may sell the right for a million.

Some pics of the latest black 116500

Dear Scott,
many thanks for your precious and detailed review.

this morning I contacted PureTimes for information on the Daytona Noob 2.2 version and why it was not available on their site.

They replied that they never heard from "Noob" about the dial upgrade or anything else about this Daytona version.

They sent me an HQ photo saying there are no differences (i sent this page and Trusty Time page to explain the situation).

What do you think about it?

Many thanks in advance for your collaboration.

Kind regards,
Michele

I have no idea why a popular TD like PureTime still does not know that the Noob 116500 dials have been updated.
Some members here have these new versions and have posted pictures and reviews of how much better they are.

The QC picture that you posted is a new Updated V2.2 dial. V2.2 is an nonofficial version name only used on this forum.

Thanks for taking the time to clear this up and for your patience with newer members still trying to learn. I didn't study back 2 years ago and I don't want to spread a rumor that isn't true.

Thanks for posting the pictures of your Frankened 116520 and the new Black 116500 Noob together.
I am disappointed to hear that the Sivler color of the Sub-dials is still not correct, but happy to hear this from someone who knows first hand what is correct.
Could you tell me if the ARF Black 116500 dial has the correct matte Silver Sub-dial finish?

I hope tomorrow we have some sun and then I will take some pice outside. The problem is that there are so many pics in the net and it all depends on the light.
In my opinion, the dial is pretty good now. I also can live with the new noob bezel and do not see the wrong font. So I believe this new release is good out of the box. But not 100 % perfect.

I posted in the other "Noob v2" thread that my recent order of the Panda from PureTime shows a v1/v2 dial with the thicker subdials. I wonder if it's possible PureTime just has an abundance of these in stock and hasn't submitted any newer orders from Noob?

I just ordered one 2 days ago and got this v2.2 beauty. Elena at puretime told me that this is the latest dial noob has released.

@M Scott
I took some pice for you in different light. I believe the size of the black V2.2 Subdials is ok and the color is 95 %. So the black 116500 is V2.2 is a very good rep ootb. No mods necessary. They have also corrected the gasket and no gasket mod to lower the crysatl is needed.

Here are some pics , if you want to mod them for you photoshop comparison, drop me a pm with your email.
