Hi all guys,
I'm actually very confused about the DJ 36/41 mm situation: different manufacturers, many models, some mod required, so i would like to recap everything in a single post to understant which is actual the best DateJust on the market .

Arf -- blue dial slightly different from gen, dw flat - price 388$
Noob crown is incorrect, also the markers are slightly too fat
JF ??

Are these informations correct?

What do you think are the best, and which are the flaws of each that can be corrected?

Im my opinion, if you want a 36mm DJ go with the ARF. The following mods would make it a super rep:

- Gen date wheel (a must for me)
- Gen dial (unfortunately hard to come by in blue and quite expensive. But if you have the funds, go for it!)
- Gen crown (nice to have but not that important imo)
- Gen crystal (nice to have but not that important imo)

I would go with the DW and, if you have the funds, the dial. That would make the watch superb!

Ps.: Servicing the movement is recommended.

Buy ARF, just install Gen date wheel or it’s starts to cost a bit

Gen blue dials are around £300

Gen DW cost around £150

Service around £100 DW installed for free.

This is mine, with the date wheel mod it looks really good. No one would know it’s not real unless side by side with one.

REF have recently brought their Datejust 41 126334 out. At the moment only Rhodium and blue dial jubilee, fluted bezel available. it looks to be the best looking one on the market at the moment, waiting for someone to buy and review it first. But from QC pictures it looks extremely promising!

Ref? never heard of them, but i'm very new to the rep scene. There's a way to look at their model?

Love this thing... I got the roulette wheel waiting for install... am thinking xtal too. Does anyone know which xtal it is? I keep seeing that it’s the same as the 6digit sub... is that true?

As far as I remember, the best option right below the ARF was the BP V2, if you are staying at 36mm (which to me is where a Datejust belongs).

Main differences are the movement (SH3135 on ARF and 2824 on the BP V2) and the price (ARF is more expensive). The overall feeling is better on the ARF due to better finish and materials but the difference isn't incredibly huge.

Maybe gamba66 or pompompurin can add more info as both have been dealing with Datejusts occasionally.
