To all the more knowledgeable members of the Rolex section:
Why isn't the last version of the Rolex Cellini Time in Rose Gold by MK factory considered super rep?

Here is the GEN:

And here the REP:

To me it looks spot on, only visible flaw might be that the crown on the rep is slightly fatter, except this I don't see anything else. Even the font, which in this picture looks slightly flatter in the gen, in others looks the same.

Am I missing something here?

Thank you for your feedback!

I don’t think so. Totally different color of the gold.

Do you see this based on the photos above or based on your experience with Rolex rose gold?

Depending on the pics from different TDs and other pics of the Gen on the web it actually looks very close:

You are comparing two different models.
But in general it’s hard for a gold/rosegold watch to become a superrep status as it’s very hard to hit the right tone of the gold color.

They are variation of the same model, with and without roman numerals and in general I would assume that Rolex Everrose gold is the same even across different ranges in terms of colour. But I understand your point, thanks

I was surprised how good VF leather was compared to GEN. Only variation is that GEN has a 16mm clasp whereas VF has a 18mm claps. Some might call you out on the clasp but not the leather. I paid $ 600 for the GEN strap without hardware alone.

Are VF and MK the same factory?

For a gold watch to be considered a super rep it would need to be solid gold to match weight, appearance and feel of the real deal.

Machining would be a nightmare! That stuff has a rockwell hardness that is almost off the scale for metals so it's slow and very costly in tool wear.

I know zero about Tungsten. I just looked for same Density as gold and was surprised I hadn’t heard of it. Then googled it has oddly (and I romantically) taken off in the wedding ring market!

Good rule of thumb is anything gold that is a rep will never be a super rep and is always a temporary purchase. Someday th value will be zero. Doesn’t it can’t be great until that day though.

It doesn’t disintegrate! You can re-plate or go back to base metal (steel). You make it seem they are constructed of alka seltzer bits in the rain fizzing into nothing :)!

I’m not sure why re-plating isn’t more of a thing with plated reps, you can get an electroplating kit for cheap and could just touch up the wear areas as and when they appear?
