Here's a comparison of two different versions of the BP 31 mm Rolex DateJust. The so-called Version 1 is on the left and Version 2 is on the right. I have posted this picture to show the difference in the appearance of the date. I thought the date looked acceptable in version 1, with 2 digit date numbers a bit to the left of center. That I understand is a function of the movement used in the watch. On version 2 of the watch the date looks far too big and unacceptable to me. I own the version 1 watch on the left.
As I mentioned in a post above, I had purchased several of the BP version 1 models and all were pretty good. I then bought two version 2 BP 31 mm DJs and was shocked to see how bad the date looked when I received the watches. I should have rejected them upon review of the QC pictures, but thought the overly large looking dates were a function of the macro photography and so accepted the watches. I was able to have the date problem fixed by having the BP cyclops replaced with a gen .
Six months later I attempted to purchase another BP 31 mm DJ as I had hoped the problem would have been solved after I provided gen to BP version comparison pictures to the factory via the TD. The problem continued and so I rejected the v2 watch shown on the right. It wasn't worth the hassle and expense of replacing the cyclops. It looks as though BP hasn't solved the problem in the past year as per the picture posted above by Gcnlm995.
