@Cwazy: So you know, I found a guy in the greater Seattle area who services tourbys (reps included) for what seems to me to be a fairly reasonable cost. Whenever the time comes, take it over to Arc WW in Northgate. Sammy quoted me between $300-400 on mine.

oh that dude... yeah i've been there... hes got a nice selection of winders hahah..

but shitttt, 300-400 is alot..

considering that you can get a new one for 500... and i'm 100% sure that someone will buy a non functioning tourby for 250... it seems like a better financial investment just to get a new one.

Retire it as an expensive paperweight? Lol. I guess depending on the model. Yeah, I agree, it's kind of a toss up with the $500 tourbys. The $800 ones on the other hand though? Probably just go with the service. My fear was that the servicing costs I would find would be upwards of a grand, if lucky enough to find anyone who would touch them at all.

I picked up a new strap and deployant for mine there a couple days ago. They seem to have a decent selection of nice straps too. Was glad to find some gen croc to choose from. So, $215 later...

true, the 700-800 tourbys is definitely a toss up between sell broken and get new versus service.

I would probably go the servicing route on one of the pricy ones then... But knowing me, I'd probably rip into it and try to fix it myself before an actual servicing haha...

the cheaper tourbys on the other hand, aught just be flipped and purchase new one.

Yeah, definitely good deals there! I originally was going to order one online, but after seeing this strap in person, I fell in love with it. I really liked the feel, the natural wrinkly grain, and the stitching, which is close in color to the numbers. It did come with a warranty too. The strap itself was $160, plus $55 for the deployant. They also fixed a leak in the back of the watch without charge, which was definitely good. At least it's somewhat water resistant now. Which is important here in this crappyass climate, where the continuos 24/7 drizzle doesn't finally stop until July! Lol!

Thanks cwazy! Just pulled the trigger on the new red forged carbon AP Grand Prix. My tourbie dreams will now have to wait :)

Yeah, the back exhibition crystal/glass needed to be resealed. Have you had yours pressure tested? Definitely a good thing to do, especially with a tourby.

The tourbies are awesome! Does anyone have any experience with this one - http://www.puretime.co/product/heritage-tourbillon-ss/

Ah, yes! That model also has the Shanghai "classic tourbillon", which is an AWESOME movement (same movement in my FM). IMHO, it's a step above the sea-gull st8000s. It is actually more costly. This is the only movement (to my knowledge anyway) that has a 60 hour power reserve. All others only give you the 42. Can't complain about the accuracy either; mine gains about 2 seconds a day. The upper-end Breguet tourby reps are obviously some of the most accurate, compared with their gens.

lol does yours have a screw down crown?? mine does not, so i see no point in testing mine. I only wear mine to black tie events or galas...

Good point. I don't know, do any of the tourbillon reps come with screw down crowns? Ha! Call me weird, but yes, I do wear my tourby daily. Gotta keep it classy, you know. All 7 days a week! X-)

Found a couple videos to compare the toubie on your FM rep vs. the Breguet. I think I like the tourbie on your FM better.

The dimensions of the rep Breguet don't match the gen but the rep does look stunning.

Actually, the FM rep in the video there is with the Hangzhou 3310 movement (note: larger stationary 4th wheel behind cage and balance). If you look at most gen Swiss in-house and Breguet tourbillon movements, you'll notice characteristics closer to those of the Shanghai. Here's a couple vids of the same FM as mine. There's different variations of the Shanghai movement. Most you see, like in the Breguets, have the bridge. The ones in the FMs are the flying version. There's also another FM version that has the day/date along with the pr, but way more of a fantasy.
