Frankening the 508 and 243

Managed to score some important parts this week and they arrive today!.

These parts are the only important visual inaccuracies of these watches in my opinion.

The Rep 508 bezel although very good has a few differences, the 5 minute pips are not visually the same and stand prouder and a little bit more shinier, the paint in the gen bezel is more of a metallic gold

The 243 Bezel has different chamfers in the top of the bezel, the gen is wider.

I'll do some side by sides.....

Managed to score two gen 243 bezels aswell so will get rid of one once finished.

Congratulations, 508 is the best you could do!

When you manage to put it, please share if the bezel mount on gen / rep is the same, and if it fits without additional modifications.

what you can’t see is the difference of the gold in fill in the numbers but in real life it is quite apparent

and it fits straight onto the rep without mods

The bezel is held onto the rotating mechanism vi. Nylon gasket by pressure

It's crazy how the differences are strong on side by side pictures : material color tone, markers's depth, pip lume, numerals...

Damn you superspark69, I'll never look at a 508 replica the same way!

Now the 243 bezel is a different story!.

The inner bezel retainer/click wheel will need shaving down on a lathe for the gen bezel to fit!

So this one is definitely not plug and play!.

This will have to go to a modder/watch maker to adapt!.

There are definitely differences between rep and gen but not massively so, the Rep bezel is very very good. Biggest difference is the bezel pip and the number markers, even the edge transfer bevel is not that noticeable!.
