47mm & wrist size?

Since 44mm subs are getting more and more difficult to get hold of and 42mm seem a bit smaller, thinking of going to a 47mm.

Anyone with smaller wrists tried a 47mm sub? How did they find it?

What should be the avg minimum wrist size one could pull off a 47mm with?

I’ve used to own a 372 (non-Sub) of course, but with a lug to lug of 56/57mm. Big watch!
My wrist is small, 16cm (6.3 inches) but it’s flat. So, I thought I could pull it off :). Depends all on the form/shape of your wrist I guess?

I completely agree, and I add that in addition to the form, landing is important. How high on your forearm do you like to wear a watch. The next no less difficult question is what is “good” for you? I think that if a thought and desire have arisen - try it, show us the photo, we will cheer you up and say that it's cool! And you will have a new watch in the collection.

You'll need at least an 8 inch wrist diameter to pull off a 47mm with any kind of class. Looks stupid when the lugs overhang the wrist in my opinion.

Already mentioned above :). But it’s 16cm, or 6.3 inches!

It's all in your mind. If you think you look stupid, it will show. I think it looks awesome and so I only get compliments. :)

You can't choose your genetics, but you can choose your watch size.

The only thing worse than wearing a loose watch is wearing one that is too big.

I wear all three sizes it depends on the situation. 42mm is good for work, 44mm can do both business and home and 47mm weekend

47 is a big case, sure but usually - if you’re thinking Panerai, you’re not looking for subtle. I’ve noticed that If you just look at your wrist with a 47mm watch on it, you see a big case. But if you look at yourself in the mirror or just looking at someone in a normal situation you don’t see a watch that’s too big.

the size of your wrist doesn’t really matter. In my opinion. Wear the watch. Don’t let the watch wear you. Ya know?

For instance...

This might look too big

I agree with the above post. It's not just the size of your wrist, but your overall frame too.

I have a 18.5cm (7.25") wrist, so not particularly large, but I am 6'3" so a large Pam on my wrist doesn't look out of place.

"They" look the perfect size to me. ;-)

Nevertheless: I completely agree. Anyway, you wear a watch for you and because you like it, not because anyone else has to like it in my opinion.

Or more importantly, don't let others opinion of what they think you should do wear you. :) Life is too short, especially during these times. Don't spend it trying to please everybody. That's nearly impossible. What's important is how wearing the watch makes you feel. That's it. :D
