Iris Thomas does do outstanding work. Why are you looking for thick though? I find the thick straps are so tough to break in and so stiff even once they are broken in. I prefer soft, supple, light but well made straps.

Out of everything I’ve seen in this thread, ST Straps is your best option. I have like 5 of their straps and they’re really nice.

What are you looking for? Anything specific? There are a few guys making straps on here or even on other boards who will make some nice straps very affordable.

On a a side note, I can’t believe someone mentioned corrigia as “an affordable or low cost option” for straps. Good quality, sure, but cheap they are not.

Without wanting to sound like a camp British comedian, thick can be soft.
The thickest straps I’ve got are probably the most supple, depends on leather. I’ve got a Malio, a Bospherous and a couple of Mays straps that are like butter left out on a hot day. Dirk’s too.


Toscana’s are thick and more than comfortably supple too.
I’ve got this 24mm I’m not using if it’s of interest to you? Bung RWI a suitable amount and I’ll post it....

+1 for soft thick +4-5mm leather straps. The Iris Thomas DH straps are like BUTTER right out of the box. Corrigia, Simona, ST strap, Mays Berlin, Mansarea are also extremely excellent.

I have a few mays Berlin straps and they’re like the softest leather I’ve ever felt. But I don’t really consider 4-5mm thick either. I think that’s pretty typical. When i hear “thick” I tend to think 6mm.

And i I have a few 6mm straps that are very soft but they’re still.... bulky? For lack of a better word.

Oh, hey... They have the LV Graphite leather. Damn. But it's $200.

I almost ordered this like 4 times from them but held off.

I might try to grab some rep leather to try something like this myself.

I've been going crazy looking for this at an affordable price.

First 2 pics off that link. The last 3 pics I saved from where he advertised on trf which now I realize is the same maker.

The LV actually look very sexy. I have the REP leather ( brown ) and will check around what a commissioned product will cost.

I actually ordered a strap off amazon and another off ebay. They're suppose to come in today or tomorrow and they're advertised as 5mm thick with some good reviews.
