Been checking out the Crystal AR aswell and its an improvement over the 616, you can see from the reflection of the leaves above the watches on the 616 and not so much on the 1616 and 979

that is very reasonable in comparison to the equivalent in omega and tudor that seem expensive for the same type of strap.

As mentioned here by PolonusTM, they are springbars which you need to access from inside the lugs.

Thank you. I have read (and even quoted some of those posts) and did a search but couldn’t find it. I figured it was just spring bars but hoped to check before I started poking around too much. Especially because the 799 uses screws.

By the way, the fixed the lume on the 799.

Very sound advice. That's what I do when something I want to get is available but is not posted. It's a very simple thing to do and would probably just contain the pictures of the watch as shared privately (just make sure one is tagged as per requirements).

Only a side-by-side will end this debate. Otherwise, it's all down to perception.

The date seems pretty similar to me. If anything, on the gen, the date is bold and bright. Not necessarily a different white but maybe a bolder, brighter font than the “Panerai”.
