45.5 mm Noob CRPO vs GEN!

Last summer I made a comparison of a BP CRPO and a genuine CRPO (search and you will find). When the Noob version came out, I wanted to get it and update the comparison...now I am ready to sell my gen and enjoy this nice rep - it has its flaws but really nothing big. Biggest difference for me is the bezel teeth size, rep has bigger teeth (also the edge is sharper) and it makes the whole watch look different than the gen. Nothing serious if you haven't stared the gen for the last 10 months :)

I let the pics do the work, in most pics the gen is on the left or on top or the first pic...in some pics it is on the right but you can see which is which. I will post my comments later, as I am quite busy atm. Enjoy!

Stunning pictures. Shows you how good the reps have become. Thanks. This is a great thread. Please do post your thoughts because a narrative accompanying your pictures would be awesome.

I'm surprised by how well the rep lume holds up against the gen. Is the difference more apparent in real life? My noob 42 is pretty dim compared to my Seiko divers but it remains visible all night long.

Thanks for this great comparison, differences are really minimal, obviously except the movement.
Noob factory did a very good job with this rep.

Great review once again, rep given.

Is that a stock Noob crystal otb, or have you given it your personal ar coating?

Good work thanks for the pics makes my wait even harder! Im pretty sure toward the end on some the rep and gen got swapped around. I had to keep using the dial markers (spilled over lume) or date window as a ref point.

Ok, try to calm down Pecman :) Thanks for the kind words guys!

- bezel insert color and material: really close to a genuine, in color and in gloss. Genuine insert changes color more and sometimes looks darker than the rep, sometimes lighter. Sometimes the rep looks a bit more glossy than the genuine, but really hard to notice. Super well done.
- bezel inser numbers: ok, a bit thicker than the genuine numbers.
- pear: placement super, height super, a bit too much lume on this one.
- crystal (in the pics standard rep AR, nothing updated): AR pretty much the best I have seen on a rep, still 5% missing from the genuine. Rep crystal is a bit foggy compared to gen, might be the crystal material. Anyway, just so close you really don't need to upgrade it. Tint color differs a bit from the genuine, but really no difference if you don't have the genuine to compare. Rep is pretty much colorless, genuine has a little purplish tint.
- dial: base material is very good, similar gloss to genuine (remember UPO for example, rep was plain black - gen has more texture). Numbers thicker and the color not 100% match, markers bigger and lume overflow, markers not straight. Logo good. Seamaster text looks like faded when you compare to genuine, genuine much brighter. But again, if you don't have the genuine to compare, not a problem. Genuine has a more bling bling, and you can see it - overall feeling is brighter. Date window cut is the easiest tell, rep is not sharp, in certain lighting it looks a bit roundish. Gen is very sharp and makes the overall look sharper.
- DW: font good, nice raised numbers. BUT, the color of the numbers (silver) is not as bright as the genuine has. Easy to notice when you have a gen to compare.
- hands: nothing bad to say, you can see that there are some small differences. Actually the seconds hand tip color matches to genuine well, better than the Seamaster lettering color on the dial.
- case: well made but the finish of the brushed parts differs significantly from the genuine. In genuine you cannot see the brushing direction, in rep you can. No biggie and should be easy to refinish
- crown: good but longer than the genuine.
- he valve: just fine.
- bracelet: I really cannot feel any difference in this. Sure the finish is a bit different but so well made! The lock system feels a bit cheaper but still good. Collects scratches as easily as the genuine bracelet - meaning easily :)
- lume: not as good as genuine. Not so sharp looking. Good anyway. A bit uneven.

Overall, I have had this for 2 days at work and I really don't remember that it is not the genuine one when I look at it now and then (no, I mean a lot :) ). Still I am thinking if I should keep the gen but on the other hand 300 euros vs. 4800 euros, this rep is very nice!

Beats BP model 10-0
Beats UPO 10-0

No need to discuss any more what is the best Omega rep!
