Today I present to you a very special watch that since it's original release in 2002/3, I have dreamed of one day owning a gen. However today you can not find a like new one for under 3800USD, which is ridiculous in my eyes because MSRP is/was 1995USD. Since this watch is no longer in production and has not been for some number of years now, it has been impossible to find a brand new old stock. So my solution was to source Omega original parts and build one myself. Well after a few years of searching and learning about the parts needed to successfully build one, that day has finally arrived.
The stars and planets must have all been aligned for this to come to fruition, because I was able to source all parts needed/ordered/received within one and a half weeks, with the final pieces to the puzzle arriving just today from Ofrei. Below is a list of parts and where/who sourced, all parts are gen Omega with the exception of the Swiss ETA 2892A2 movement and the Swiss made spring bars. The insert and extra movement holder screws were sourced from WSO.
The caseback is the incorrect caseback for the 2537, however, given the circumstances it will be near impossible to source the correct Limited Edition caseback without basically getting a doner from a damaged/unusable 2537 with a great condition caseback. I did source another caseback that could work for me on this build since it is my own personal build, it would be a numbered anniversary caseback that would coincide with my age/birth date. More to follow on this idea as I am taking my time to decide if it is really worth spending the extra money on. As of right now the build price is 1972USD, coming in at 23USD under original MSRP. Not bad considering the cost of Gen Omega parts has practically double over the last 5 years and that's if you can source them. Omega will currently only sell things like Bracelets/Clasps sort of stuff over the counter to average customers. Now if you know someone or have a friend that is an authorized dealer then you have access to most, if not all of the parts you need to build a Omega watch.

More to follow, I will start this build very soon. Also, I will add some pictures of my 007 rep that I purchased from Eddie Lee back in 2004, for reference. This rep was considered a super rep then, and as far as I can tell, would still be considered a super rep today if the factory had not closed.
Stay tuned, and thanks for viewing.
