Horrible experience with slaughterer62 watch modder

Hello folks,

I have been a forum member for almost 10 years and have learned a lot here even though I am not a frequent poster. I am opening this thread because I had a bad experience with watch modder member slaughterer62.

I sent him my pam671 to install a brand new gen Swiss 7750 movement. He did the job really quickly and shipped the watch back. He confirmed that the watch was tested at 5 bars pressure but he refused to loktite the crown guard screws even if I asked him many times. His response was that the screws don't need to be loktited.

Next day after receiving the watch I dipped it in orange flavored soda in order to have the patina removed. Guess what... Soda got inside the watch because caseback was not even tight. I actually removed it with my two fingers without any effort. I was speechless. On top of that, the auto rotor fell off immediately and one of the three screws was missing! I was shocked.

Luckily enough I saved the mvt and watch by letting it dry under hot sun for a few days and now it has been sent already to another modder to fully service and clean it.

I paid a lot of money for nothing.
I contacted the moderators here but haven't gotten a response from them yet, maybe they are too busy.
I contacted slaughterer62 describing everything to him and his reply was that everything left his house tight and perfect. He asked me to send it back at my own expenses to work on it again. But how can I send the watch and a 400 euros mvt back to somebody that was so amateur at first place? I can't trust him any more.

I don't know what to do.
Opinions are welcomed.

I apologise if the post is in the wrong section and I also hope my post is not insulting to anyone. I am just really upset and don't know what to do.

Thanks for reading.

PS. All of my discussion with slaughterer62 in in my inbox, mods you are more than welcome to read it. Attached are pics of the damage the same day I received the watch.

Have you made any attempt to sort this out with the guy?
If so and that was unsuccessful have you contacted a moderator?

If not, why the hell have you posted this?

I have contacted the moderators as I said a few days ago and no response.
I also said that what the guy offered was to resend the watch back to him at my own expenses which for me is pointless because he prooved to be amateur

He's not an amateur by any means and has offered a solution, what more do you want?
How did you contact a staffer?

He was an amateur with me let's say.
Fingertight caseback and lose rotor that fell off the first day is more than enough proof for me

"has offered a solution what more do you want"

The solution he offered is that I pay extra money for double shipping because he was unable to do the job correctly at first place? Without even saying a word about the falling rotor? Insisting that it was not his fault because the caseback was torqued and the watch tested at 5 bars????

I don't understand you

I ask again, by what method did you attempt to contact a staffer?

To be accurate, his actual solution was even worse than what I have described in my initial post. He offered to ship the watch back to him at my own expenses so that he replaces that gasket and reseal it. He also offered a second solution he suggested that I find a local watchsmith to replace the gasket and reseal it.

So he basically suggested to leave the soda leftovers inside the watch and the rotor lose.

In my book, an honest watchsmith would have offered to get the watch back at his own expenses and then clean and service again the whole mvt then install everything correctly this time and ship back again at his own expenses. Because I did NOTHING wrong on this case and I paid real money for a not real service.

Yes indeed
Especially if you have spent 1000 USD total for watch , mvt and modifications

I am really wondering if you read my posts. All three questions you asked we're already replied by me before asking

No, no you have not. Now, please answer the question, how did you try to contact staff? Is it that hard to give me an answer?

You clicked on the 'Contact' tab at the top of the home page and filled out the form - correct ?

Which, after 8 years here he should know is NOT how it's done. That's the board reporting address and goes to the tech guys.
