AP Royal Oak 15450 Opinions?

Can you show us a wristshot from both 15400 and 15450 ? Can hardly imagine the real size difference on the wrist

After visiting an AP boutique and trying on every size, I highly recommend the 15450 to anyone with a 6.5 inch wrist or smaller.

I struggled with the decision until trying them on. The 41mm RO is comically large on my 6.5 inch wrist. To my eye the 39mm was too large as well.

If you want understated elegance 37mm is the best choice on a 6.5 inch wrist or smaller. If you like enormous tank-like hip-hop bling, by all means get the 41mm.

What about the 15202 with its 39mm?

I got really skinny wrists also and was thinking about going for a 39mm 15202 instead of a 15450.

I have a german watch magazine which shows nearly all watch manufacturers and their current models.

In the AP section the 15450 was referred to as a "lady size" watch..

In the AP boutique the 37mm is referred to as "unisex." The 33mm is the ladies watch.

On skinny wrists the 37mm is LARGE. These really are much larger on the wrist than a typical 37mm watch. The 39mm looked oversized and the 41mm looks ridiculously cartoonishly large.

I have a 6.5 inch wrist and the 37mm is the absolute largest I'd feel comfortable wearing. Then again, I wear watches as an assessory rather than a focal point. I don't like watches that are distractingly large.

Each to its own.

As shared by many kind members about this model & its contemporaries, we have been aided to make an informed decision.

Most importantly, wear a watch that compliment or flatter you than otherwise.

Trust me, I am really not a fan of the bigger watches, the 15400 is way too large IMO even for bigger wrists. I think even the 15300 or 15202 is very large but I have been considering them solely for the reason that they are good franken bases. The 15450 is simply too new for that and would end up being some fantasy model (because I doubt I could find a non-vintage dial in blue or black at a decent price).

I do not share the opinion that the 15450 is a lady's watch at all btw, I was simply shocked that they labeled it as such in a respectable german watch magazine and it kind of offended me in a way because I was considering the even smaller 14790.

My main watch will be a 5-digit (kinda vintage) Daydate franken that has a diameter of 36mm but wears a bit larger.

Can anyone comment on the thickness compared to genuine regarding the 15450 ? This seems to be a problem for all the royal oak replicas.

If thickness is your concern than 15400 is the closest match, since its just a 1mm compared to gen. But 15450 is much more if not mistaken.

Reading from the above comments, I seriously do not see this case size as an issue. Perhaps you may not be comfortable with larger watches, i've started up with a Panerai as my first rep, without even trying the gen on my small 6 1/4 wrist. At first I felt extremely uncomfortable, thinking it was way too big for my wrist, but over the years i've learned to cherish bigger watches and have a couple of 42mm divers, 44mm ROOs. My recent procurement was the 15400, and during my much earlier phase into replica I really couldnt understand why people were all dying to own one of these. But I got to say the 15400 is one of the greatest off the shelves rep ive bought so far. I know its not perfect, the dial is farfetched but it just captures so much attention compared to the rest.

A few months ago, I bought a franken Paul Newman Rolex Daytona from a member, the case has been reshaped like gen to 37.8mm, and even with the black contrast bezel which is suppose to make the watch look oversized, I felt it was very small on my wrist. Not sure why, perhaps I wasn't used to it.

Anyways, just letting you know from my experience.

By the end of the day, im looking to sell most of my reps and only keeping the frankens.

JF 15450

15202 is thinner and flatter and sits better on the wrist; 15450 is thicker, rehaut looks 3 feet deep (maybe prof xtal on mine exaggerate it) but has a better quality in the bracelet and overall construction.

Visually difference is minimal, I'd say negligible. 15400 looks way bigger on my wrist but I suspect it might also be the thickness playing a part. Wouldn't mind reviewing my considerations after trying one of the thin 15400 @locolouie offers

What is your wrist size? Sorry if I overread that..
I am having difficulties too to decide which model fits. I have a 7,5 wrist but I like small watches like a 36 Datejust.

Matey the JF has a dial with a whopping 3D effect going for it; whilst that Panda inc. does not - is it just the lighting or is it really this obvious?

i suspect prof xtal is playing a part in that; nevertheless jf seems to have a better tapisserie

live the difference is not so exaggerated

15450 = 37mm / 9.8mm thick / ~350USD stock (mine just sold at 475USD)

15202 fatpanda = 39mm / 8.6mm / 268USD

15202 quartz = 39mm / 8.4mm / ~150USD

everyone can draw his/her conclusions. Different strokes for different folks. None of the 15202 versions is genlike so you have to choose your poison

If you guys are so concern about the watch size and how it fits on your wrist, just visit an AD and try them all out at once. Rather than asking for other people's opinions. Its very subjective.

I have a 15450 rg leather strap.
My wrist size is 6.75 inches.
I've tried the 15400 in the same combo. And sold it as soon as it arrived. It was large for me.

I've had a diver steel too. But we are not talking about it.

I'm comfortable with smaller watches.

15450 is perfect for my wrist size. Some may argue that it looks lady like.
I say its proportionally appropriate.
