Hello Everyone, I am a newbie trying to buy a Daytona 116506 with the luminescent dial. After researching it thoroughly, I found out that CLEAN with DD4130 mechanism is the way to go.

CLEAN seems to come with both DD4130 vs SA4130 mechanisms for this model. I started reaching out to TDs to check availability and one of the reputable TD claims that DD4130 vs SA4130 are the same mechanisms while another one says they are different and SA is lower quality.

I am confused and I would appreciate your input on this. TIA

Best,
Chuck

Welcome to RWI Chuck.

Here is a link so you can get a better understanding of the movements found in Rolex watches. It's a really good read and you should get familiar with them before ordering anything.

Hello and WELCOME from the official RWI reception desk!

You are receiving this introduction because you either posted in the "new members say hi" section or —for the first time(s)— elsewhere. In the latter case, consider introducing yourself in the aforementioned section.

If you haven't already, please make sure to read all relevant sticky threads. They contain important and essential information such as the forum rules! Most importantly the sales rules, because you will NOT yet be eligible / allowed to sell unless you meet certain criteria / are certified first.

A good starting point is this list of resources on RWI:

Please also take another look at this important sticky that you should already have seen after logging on for the first time:

This quick anti-fraud guide is essential if you are about to order from a dealer for the first time:

If you need any further assistance, feel free to contact me or @Feefo!

We will gladly help, but please allow some time for PM responses as we have lifes outside of RWI!

Welcome Chuck to RWI Community

Do have a good read. Sometimes, some dealers have lesser understanding on the movements because of the fact they do not even have direct access to the watches.

With the sharing of information and resources, you can be sure that you get familiarised with the terms given and look out for the updated versions sold.

Have fun.
