Personally it's usually the first thing I change , ... I don't see these to be any better than the average rep strap ( or am I wrong ?? ) :)

I would say your better off buying something from strap culture, heroic18 or panatime. panatime has some very good straps for cheap.

I have the same doubts about it. But at $58 I suppose you should get something better than the average strap no?
In fact that's why I'm asking if anyone has bought one.

I don't want to pay $100+ for a tiny piece of leather. Surely this can be produced cheaper. Panatime has some straps in what I would call an acceptable price but the ones I like are sold out...

Is it just me or are the prices for some of these straps outrageous?

Yes but the ones I mentioned are the cheaper ones that youll find check out mario paci and tc straps very expensive but all handmade.

You gotta think a strap takes hours to build/make so your paying for the leather, thread, contact cement, all the tools, the skill and the time of the strap maker.

Strap making is an art in its own right my friend if you want good quality you gotta pay for it.

Check the bay there are hundreds of straps there for cheap they will probably be slightly better than your rep quality but they are cheap.

Are you looking for brown croc/alli in particular?

Panatime has acceptable prices, but a lot is out of stock.

Manual labor is indeed expensive here in the west, but I can imagine that in the east some quality work can be done as well...

I'm looking for a darker brown croc/alli with deploy buckle for my PAM177.

The prices at getat seem reasonable, but you can easily tell the lesser quality by the pics.

strapcode seems to have gotten quite expensive.

I wonder what the profit margins on straps are:thinking:

Primestraps (crocodile) on here can make you a custom strap for something like $80, I'd have a look on ebay for other new ones if looking for cheaper, I've got some 24mm 5mm thick leather straps on ebay before.

I've got my first Pam coming. A 236 with a SS bracelet. Is there a good leather strap available on Ebay? I've got some ebay bucks I'd like to use.
Thanks for any input.

Not really "good" well it depends on what your comparing them against, but the ones I've picked up on ebay for $20 Ive been happy with and are "good" vs any rep strap.

Pay a bit more for whoever your preference in strap maker and you can get a *good* that you'd prefer to an actual OEM Panera strap like most people do even w/ gens.

In the case of a 236 if it was me I'd look for something 5mm thick, smooth black leather w/ white stitching for me that would suit it perfectly.

Like that for $17 even if you absolutely hated it when you received it you can pretty much write it off anyway.

Or you could take a look at the stickied straps thread at the top of this forum.

Don Ginsler has some quality stuff for relatively cheap, as well.

I would suggest my friend Rich at GlobalWatchBand.com as well.

A nice strap will def complement the watch, so i think you shouldnt try to save too much on it, rather you should invest in a nice strap that is able to last.

within our community, there are a handful of strapmakers too like Crocodile, Donerix etc. i have a few straps from Kain Heritage and they are in the same league as Heroic 18.

Their straps are usually bundled with a sub/pig buckle which furthers complement the watch ya wearing.

Just got a oem panerai black alligator with deployment on ebay for 315$. The funny thing is that I dont own a panerai yet. I always get an oem strap for all my reps it just gives it a gen feeling.
