MODS move this if I screwed up where I posted it

Sunday night I got the word from Stan at WBK he found a Quartz Daytona. I asked for this because I wanted a Daytona without the worries regarding the 11 or so extra gears put in the 7750 to make seconds at 6. This watch was worth every bit of $148 I received both watches today (an Omega Auto SeaMaster) Some of thes pic s still have the plastic on the band. (Didn't realize until later oops but it still looks great. One think I noticed in the QC pic were th hands. They are more "pointy" than the gen...Not worth another $250 and 7750 juryrig

YEah the seconds do tic at 6pm but you have to have the watch up close to see that. The Chrono second hand sweeps like it should and all the chrono parts work well. The bracelet is ok of course not as good as a better rep perhaps but again if one does not give this watch to a WIS they would never know it's a rep' and a quartz at that. I first became enamoured with quartz when I found a Breitling Chronomat 44 with a Seiko VK movement. It is the ost complimented watch I own.

Here are some pics and a short video of the 6 PM seconds running

You experts probably could point out a lot more flaws.

I have a Seiko quartz chrono w/sweeping chrono hand too....beat like 16-17,000 ish. I betcha it the same or similar movement.

I dig the nembo frozen @12 myself...the dial rocks, the thin case rocks and the sweep seconds @ 6 but this is great choice too.
I had MBK quartz punkin PO chrono once. It was a bad ass too.

Congrats

I suppose I am more concerned with a working reliable rep than a perfect one. After all it is a watch and should tell the time corretly and if it's a chrno, that function should work. I don't think anyone will measure the thickness of the case.

But I am keenly aware there are perfectionists here and "my treasure is their trash"....

"my treasure is their trash"....

Classic. I love it!

It might not have been my wisest purchase but I bought a 7750 Daytona. It is a great looking watch.

I'm glad you found what you were looking for. You never know, I may be in the market for the same watch sooner than later. :)

I bought WBK's Anniversary Daytona with the Ice blue dial and Brown Ceramic bezel with the Seiko quartz engine...got it at a great price, and it comes with quartz reliability........it all adds up to "one happy customer", namely me! $260 or so buckaroos is a lot of money for a potential "paperweight"...

Ain't no shame in a quartz Chrono. Enjoy it. I've enjoyed all the ones I've owned.

Thanks ALL

I know "quartz" is kind of shunned upon by the real hobbyists...even on WUS . But it's function is still a watch and reliability trumps perfect looks for me (with the bonus of saving $200) I don't know any WIS types and only have a couple friends who wear the real thing and kinda like the reps. My only fear is getting mugged for a rep....better than losing the real thing though. Hee hee. Now when it comes to three hand date watches I want the automatics 29J when available.

I soaked the bracelet in baby oil and sized it removing three screw links. It is not the best and in fact I think the weakest part of the watch. But that's to be expected for a buck and a half, and especially noticed when used to wearing a gen .That said ,The quartz Breitling Pilot II bracelet is very very good

Good looking watch. I might have to PM Stan about one, if I don't buy the DOSM Omega that he has on his forum page.
Stan has outstanding rep's for the cost. I think I have purchased three rep's from WBK.

Bought from Stan. Toro would. not take PayPal on a $500 or $200 order. Thats fine. I have 4 TDs accepting PayPal from me without issue.
