G'day Gentlemen,

I just received my first PAM Rep - a Noob 356-O with the A7753 movement from Tony at Asian7750. The watch looks and feels sensational but there's a problem with it.

It sounds like the auto-wind mechanism is faulty. It's makes a noise loud enough to hear 20-30cm from my ear and I can feel it on my wrist. It's sort of a springy, grinding oscillation that slowly dies down when I stop moving the watch. The watch is keeping time.

Should I talk to Tony about it or have it fixed locally?

Thanks for any advice - Ken

That's the "normal" noise of the rotor (it turns to wind the watch, it's an automatic movement). Even on gen watches (Panerai and other brands), some are really noisy.

Have a look there, you'll find an easy way to fix it for a few pennies, if you can leave with it. The movement "lives" ;-)

Welcome in the rep world and mainly enjoy it !

Thanks for the response. I have a Gen Submariner and it doesn't make a peep - I'm trying now and I can't hear anything.

I might have to convert the PAM to manual wind!

Thanks again - Ken

775X winds only one direction, the other direction is a free spin. It's just a same think as it is in Swiss Valjoux movements.. they are actually very famous of that wobble. Just google "valjoux wobble"

Your rolex winds both directions and that's why there is no wobble or no noise.

BTW: hand winders are ticking quite loud...

Thanks PaMister - I feel better now.

Prior to buying this Rep I read a lot of the RWI website. Never once did I come across this issue?

Thanks again - Ken
