Great!

Please make sure that they get the rotor right for the 5008 - it’s not the Ocean Commitment version, but the standard version.

Merci!

Just following up - it appears (according to three TD's) that the rotor is the Ocean Commitment version for the 5008. Bummer. Was going to get this bad boy. Still might - have to assess how difficult it would be to replace the rotor with the proper one.

Are these really 40.3mm? I thought gen was 45mm? Might pick one up finally because it's sized to my wrist

It's typical ZF to be honest. That's why I love and hate them. Love because they release lots of watches that not many factories release. But hate because they're very sloppy with their watches in the details. They won't care and based on how ZF has done things in the past I am not going to hold my breath for a V2.

Yes, ZF use the wrong rotor engraving for the 5008...sad

Picked up an Ocean Commitment. A sloppy attempt by ZF.

Ignoring cosmetic differences with gen, The case is nicely brushed, but the bezel action is awful- it feels like a 30 dollar DHG watch. Upon pulling the stem to time setting position, the entire movement seemed loose. Opening the back I see they simply are relying on a not very well fitted movement ring- no clamps to hold the movement to the case. I had trouble finding screws that held a clamp for these- standard case clamps in an Asian case clamp kit would not go in so I had to use random screws from the parts box.

I'm not sure if the rotor material itself is the culprit, but helicopter noise is even worse than usual with this one despite lube. I may just put a standard Miyota rotor in and test. Lume is decent. I also will say the strap is surprisingly nice for a replica. I usually change my straps but I may keep this one.

Overall disappointed in this one- I had high hopes. Clearly ZF is not " committed" to making this a decent rep worthy of is price tag. ( Wordplay ..)

I rather suspect that you got a “Monday watch”. I had the Ocean Commitment and have the Milspec, neither of which have any problems with particularly loud rotor noises or with the movement clamps. However, I can confirm the rather mediocre bezel action.

Looking at photos from a TD it appears they didn't put movement clamps from the movement to the case at all- just holder to case:
