ZF probably used crown from another model. They are just lazy.

IMO it's not a nice first attempt. ZF could do better than this. But again, ZF don't really make their own watches. AFAIK, ZF put their logo on watches produced by unknown factories.

I agree, gen one always tends to be lack luster with flaws. I'm convinced they rely on feedback like ours to correct stuff

There were claims about ZF using 3186 for this one. but judging from the qc pitctures, I doubt it's true.
