davidsen's is best IMO

AR sapphire
no recessed pin problem
SL hands and dial
though CN movement, I believe this is the good version ziggy reviewed and people are getting 60 hrs, check with davidsen
==> no modding needed!!!
best of all, it's davidsen quality and service.

Seems like you already made your decision. So post pics when you get it!

Just to add, the Blackseal seems to be one of, if not the most accurate Panerai rep out of the box.

This article is about 1.5 years old and a bit out dated, but it will show you gen vs. rep pics: http://www.network54.com/Forum/386753/t ... +Blackseal

Dealers now have the correct movement and are fixing the cannon pinion (which they seemed to miss in the the above article as I do not remember it being mentioned!)

Dial looks spot on, case to me looks 99%. So what if the corners are slightly fatter? You can't tell unless you have a gen next to it.

If you want to make it 100% then the only mod it really needs is the wire lugs. The originals fit closer to the case and have a slightly different shape. Easy to do, either get some stainless wire and try to bend it up yourself, or get a loca watchmaker to do it for you.

I'm planning getting one myself. I just cant decide between the PAM183 or PAM210.

Good luck and wear it well!

got mine from Precious Time in a raffel - then modded with parts from Davidsen
it is fitted with the dodgy movement - but had a watchmaker service it - and there is no probs with it anymore

Gorgeous work. That's a close rep. I bet most Paneristi couldn't spot it.

the only thing that bugs me is that it is a "H" dial and a "G" movement, so that do not match...
but the initital view of the dialside is really close :)

if it is mine you are asking about - then it is from Preciuos Time, but is modded with new dial and hands from Davidsen

Here's my modded 183.

Sorry I had to sell it, but I will acquire another in the future, I'm sure.

The movement is, and will always be, a dead give-away on these reps. It's impossible to match the level of finishing found on the gen. Thus, while it can be pretty darn near wrist perfect, it will always fail upon close inspection. Great watch, though.

Depends. I think the level of finishing is high enough that unless you are a Paneristi or have a loupe, you can get away with it.

And even most Paneristi out there have no idea what to look for in the movement.

With many of the newer movements, finish (or lack of) may only be apparent if holding a gen next to the rep.

Just my $0.02

Hey TK471 just when you thought it was gone. It's back for more.

I love the watch. I could not ask for any better. It's close enough for me.

I just installed my Don Shark strap. I think it looks great.
