Your Best Rep of 2006.

As the year draws to a close I was starting to wonder which was the best rep that I acquired in 2006.

For me, it is either Andrew's Bell & Ross BR01-92 or Davidsen's 127.

From reading the boards on RWI, it seems like most of us acquired a lot of great reps this year.

What is your favorite?

Tag link chrono for me, I was lucky enough to get one with a nice date.

It still really impresses me.

The new smp chrono looks lovely but I have not saw one in the flesh.

All my reps are from 2006. I'm a noob, remember :D

So, IWC GST Chrono from Precious Time, Noobmariner from TTK ... and the rest.

I don't have all these watches....yet....but these seem to be some of the good ones:

Omega PO 'ultimate'
IWC Ingenieur
Tag Link Chrono
Hublot Big Bang (when it's released)

I don't have the PO, the BB or the Inge...but the more time I spend 'around' reps, the more I realize that you're better off to buy something new. The improvements are coming pretty quickly. I plan on buying all but the Inge. And if I was to come across a good deal on the Inge, it might be all four.

I'm sure there are a bunch I've missed.

I knew I forgot a couple. I would get the SMP chrono if I didn't have an SMP and a blue-dialed Tag Link Chrono. Too much cross-over there.

I've resisted the IWC's. Even though I like the style of the Inge and the GST, I haven't been tempted to jump onboard yet. Well....I've been tempted, but there's always too many watches, and not enough clever ways to get them by the woman.

I'm only into pam reps, and I handled a Pam087 yesterday for a few minutes, and I was impressed by how well that thing is built. OK, maybe I am easy to please...

For me it's my Panerai PAM064, both white and black dial Slytech Subs and my white dial Luminor Daylight Slytech from Davidsen, can't narrow it down to one :D :D :D

Fantastic watches Natron!

It's interesting how no-one can narrow it down to one!

My best of 2006 is my first. Cartier Seatimer. 2007 will bring a perfect Seadweller and whichever Panerai model Pugwash has, 2nd from left with the great looking strap. I really like the looks of that watch. :) :)

For me my best Rep has to be my Davidsen 5218-218a PVD Slytech.

I has all the qualities i ever wanted in a pam, reliable gen swiss movement, good lume on the hands for a vintage rep dial lume is as it should be for the age of the original burned out. and slightly toast colored.
(thank you Enzo for educating me on this fact) Pvd is actual pvd and holds up to everyday wear.

I can't leave out my Eddie Lee fiddy it is a gret rep with only minor flaws that are moddable.
After searching for a few years to find a rep of this quality I am happy I purchased it regardless of the price.
With it's gen swiss eta movement(yes it has the eta marking in all the right places), and it's geniune sapphire crystals back and front (certified by a local diamond jeweler with his hardness tester), and the fact that the engraving for once is actually correct in the fact that it lines up all the way accross the whole movement as if it was cut from one piece of stock. It's IMO one of the best out there.

My 127 is terrific...and bulletproof...and accurate to a T.

My Avenger is titanium....nuff said.

Love them both.

@ Pugs,

Love that Honey strap on the Pam in your signature. That is the one I am throwing on my 005 tonight for a concert.

Gotta say it - the 42.5mm Planet Ocean IV. It's become my daily wearer, and keeps within +5 sec./day. It's just a great watch.

Best of 2006

Pam 127 and 111h, both from Davidson. Accurate, fantastic lume, add a Giovanni e Figlio strap and you've got a winner!
