So.. I bought this Noob 116622 from the sales forum 2 years ago (came with an ARF bracelet, which is quite lovely tbh!) for a bargain £225 iirc, took it over to Spain, ended up comparing it to a friend's gen, and it's lived in a watch box ever since. The thing is, I didn't mind the slight colour variation in the seconds hand/print, didn't mind the slightly different lug end profile, or the other up-close tells.. From 12" away they looked very similar. The thing that I couldn't get past was the bezel insert. It just wasn't close enough. The tone, brightness, and texture were too obvious, side by side. And the noob insert almost seems to bulge out like a car tyre when you move it around in the light. Other than the insert I really like it.
I've since brought some of my watches home with me to the UK and now I'm really not sure what to do with this one. My options are to sell it off, or to find a new insert for it. I've had a look through the forum and google etc and honestly in pictures I can't tell a well toned and textured bezel from a bad one (unless side by side with a gen). Does anyone have any idea who makes the closest to gen insert for these ootb? I thought about contacting CTime and seeing whether they can source a clean insert, but no idea if they can find one, and again I'm buying blind, really. Obviously with it being a cheapie I'm not going to throw a fortune at it by buying an insert and having it refinished (or going gen); so it's really a matter of finding a good ootb solution. But I do really like it, and it runs great. I can't be the first to face this dilemma. Any opinions?
