Alright... So, I cannot believe I am even considering this but I am! I think my rationalization is “oh, I’ll find someone who can make the subdials work. It’ll be a nice project.”

I want different opinion on why or why not to get the BP version navitimer!
I really do want the a23322 blue dial with Arabic numerals...
The blue looks off in most pictures compared to the gen blue but the blue does look pretty spot on in trustytime a video.. it seems to be an okay rep without some of the tells I see on even my JF.
obviously the date wheel is right.
the bezel and dial markers meet for the most part. I’m sure they have batches where the indices are aligned..
The a23322 does not have the Swiss made on the dial so it isn’t an obvious tell like the JF and others where the Swiss made is squashed and almost running into the 6 subdial...

Obviously the faux minute and hour counter bugs me some, but honestly, I think the datewheel on the JF and “Unknown factory” bug me more than I thought it would or that I think the chrono counter would..

Does anyone have any experience with getting the sub dials functional on the BP?
AND:
Is there any way to swap out the date wheel on the JF to get it not sunken and aligned correctly?

Any input/photo from you guys experience is welcome!

Thanks!

I have both BP and JF. The solution for either watch is to get a GEN ETA 7753 movement and do the conversion. It solves all of the known problems. So I would do it mostly with the BP because of the dial spacing would always be more accurate and the date wheel is superior as well as completely interchangeable with a stock ETA 7753.

OldNavitimer so, which do you prefer or think is better? What color dials do you have? Is your BP the a23322?

Slanglican I’ve had the BP A23322 in white, black and blue. I currently have it in white numerals and black sticks. I’ve had the JF in black, gray and blue sticks, with the blue sticks currently. I have a gray dial that may see use in a project one of these days, but is currently in the parts drawer. The white BP numerals dial is really nice. The blue BP is too teal, it just doesn’t look right. So I would stick with white or black if I were buying a BP. The blue of the JF Navi 01 is the right blue, but they actually never made the model that the JF represents. There was no blue 43mm with white dials and a white datewheel. If I were to build the most accurate Franken, I would start with the BP A23322. The dial spacing is correct for the 7753 that the gen uses, and so the gen ETA 7753 just drops in without modding. The JF is a nice watch, but being a rep of a B01 movement, the dial spacing will always be off - although only a handful of people would ever know that and it would never be noticed or called out as a rep in real life on your wrist. With either rep, you have to go through the QC process to find the best copy where the bezel markers go all the way down to meet the markers on the dial.

I’m very tempted to try the GF Navi B01 - I haven’t seen any real-world pics or have heard of anyone getting one. The biggest issue is the “B” on the dial - its total crap and an obvious tell. Hopefully they have fixed that by now. It really ruins an otherwise nice looking watch.

OldNavitimer man... that was EXACTLY the response and info I’ve been liking for! THANKS!!
Unfortunately I am not familiar with what you mean about blue “sticks” and what not... I think I know what you mean but I’m just not sure...
I thought I was going to be in love with the gray dial from “unknown factory” as per trustytime...
but I’m not... idk.. I think it’s the marker gap between bezel and dial and then the crystal...

I found the 7753... shit it was $650 on eBay!!
I KNOW the blue is off on the BP but hat is probably what I’d end up with... that it the white.. who knows..

Yeah please let me know when gf fixes that... bc I’ve been so close on that one a couple of times but yeah the b is bad...

i LOVE THE JF BLUE dial but I’m sick I didn’t get the black bc yeah.... I noticed after I ordered it that it doesn’t exist as a gen... so I wish I’d went black!

My black BP world is SUPPOSED to be at my doorstep tomorrow so that ought to make me feel a little better about the first two I got...

it went through everything perfectly with dhl but has been at “shipment on hold since Saturday morning and I’m worried about it getting a flight in time for tomorrow!
...we’ll see...

OldNavitimer about the gf. I will say that supermirrors, when I asked about navitimers, only recommended the BP world and jf01.. He also recommended the gf saying that it was pretty good.. so I kinda trust his judgement on that but yes it doesn’t take a keen eye to see how weird that B looks...
who would we really ask to get a genuine answer if GF has fixed that??

Slanglican - if you look at the QC pics on Trusty’s site, it looks like the production versions are better. It’s not like they don’t know how to make a B...they do in other modes.

OldNavitimer did not quite understand what you meant there. I’ll go to trusty website and pull up the gf and see if I can figure out what you mean

OldNavitimer can’t exactly tell for sure but this is the best “B” I’ve found. I found it on the montbrilliants...
but also the B hasn’t been fixed for gf. It’s such a bad flaw I can’t understand why they are charging a full $100 more, I wanted to order it sooo bad, but yeah I cannot get over that sloppy ass logo...

Do you guys know if a gen dial will fit the BP Navitimer 1:1 with the non-recessed date wheel and exact date font?
