Hello everybody,

I just sighted the YACHT-MASTER 226659 from BP maker which I haven’t seen anywhere on here until now.

opinions, evaluations and everything related to the 226659 is more than welcome.

Imho, the proportions are off - the bezel should be wider. The numerals also look kinda wrong to me. But maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me..
i have to say i also don't like the gen to begin with

That gen is a great looking watch to me. I may just have to study the rep's of this one and see if it grows on my enough to place an order.

Good call on the insert width, the rep is noticeably narrower. Also, if ever a watch deserved wider hands, this one does. All that dial space and skinny hands? Also the round hour markers are supersized, ewww...

I prefer the 40mm identical fantasy model - with red text, second hand and a red datewheel, its a real looker! Gimme some color on that beast!

Look how much wider the lume plot is on the 40mm minute hand. Looks much better even on a smaller dial.

One of the attractiveness of the 40mm 1166XX YMs were the color combo on the dial plus the right size proportions. I have no idea what was Rolex thinking with this 42mm black dial. KJ's comments are spot on - absence of color on dial, thin hands and dis-proportinately large hour marker makes this as one of my least preferred models. Also TBH, the black bezel looks horrendous. I also think Oysterflex looks good on the gold models, this way the case and strap has some contrast

Note: If anyone fancies a 42mm or larger, get a SD

KJ2020 I completely agree with your sentiments. The 40mm proportions were way better, and that fantasy build of mine was absolutely fantastic. The only reason I stopped wearing it was because (1) I already had an Aquanaut and it competed in the same space and (2) it was a fantasy which wore on me a bit.

Knowing the price point of this model and the size and intended functionality, I don't know why anyone would go for it over an Aquanaut which is the same price.

Meh don't worry about the credit, just happy to have the discussion really. I will not be getting the 42mm YM unfortunately. Too big and the other flaws too. The BP seconds hand has a poorly finished tip (it's very flat). Looks like Noob just released theirs on Trustytime today. Looks better than BP.
