Lovely .. and looking at the symmetry of the price (4 x 1's), he charges whatever he thinks the market will bear at the anticipated volume: rational economics.

I'm sure someone will want it but he doesn't seem to even know what he's selling.
Cortebert is a swiss company not russian. I suppose its possible that he used the Cortebert gear for some reason but that is just silly.

Ziggy or Joe could put a vintage pocket watch movement into any of our Pams for a lot less!

The idea has crossed my mind a couple of times since I have a several fantasticly decorated vintage pocket watch movements that would work for such a project as long as the subdial aligned well.

The are sweet photos and I'm not really trying to knock the seller, the "one off" factor alone is worth the extra money!

While i would agree that i would not spend that much on this replica plenty of people have. This is a watchmaster custom, and he definitely knows what he's doing. River has sold these watchmaster vintage reps for $1200 on ebay and they have sold.

Obviously, he has a VERY extensive collection, which I will happily help relive him of, if he gets bored with any!!

I do know better, but I believe that a value on any product is an inherant value that it holds for the consumer. I'm sure that if I put the effort to source all that stuff and wanted to invest the time to get the watch together, the I could do it for much less. But to me time is the most valuable commodity that exists. Like they say time is the only thing that we waste all the time but don't have enough of. I just see Kenzo as having sourced the parts and have made the watch and vintagized it for me with very little effort or time given up on my part. It is the same argument when I bought the RXW MM20 from Ken. I could probably do it but others can do it for me better and in much less time.
