Hey fellow RWI’ers,
Wanted to share my experience with @xingpatrick on my recent Superfranken Datejust build! I’ve been reading the Superfranken Datejust thread from @derjenigewelcher, and after some research, I realised that’s exactly the kind of build I was after. So, I decided to pull the trigger and order one myself.
Here’s what I went for:
Build Specifications:
Total cost: I got a great price including shipping to the UK. Considering the Mint Green dial is in high demand and at the top of the Rolex Datejust market right now, I feel like I got a solid deal. I had other builders quoting me prices like $5000 and even $8500 for similar builds, with one builder quoting $6900 just for the gen parts alone!
Timeline:
If you're a serious buyer, just be patient. He’ll get back to you when he can, and it's clear he wants to give each project the attention it deserves.
Now, I’m just waiting for updates and build pics. Can't wait to get this beauty in my hands!
Cheers!
JT

Timeline:
- Our conversation kicked off on September 11th with the usual Q&A: What’s best for this? How much for that? Price negotiations, etc. Patrick was super responsive at first, but then I hit a 6-day radio silence after I said I was ready to pay.
- I reached out to @XingDavid to check in, and he mentioned Patrick was swamped with other projects. I’d read about some complaints about communication delays, so I started wondering if I’d end up in the same boat. But sure enough, Patrick got back to me yesterday and we finalized the build spec. I made payment on September 27th.
