WS & Modders Input - Will XF 671 accept a GEN 9001 or 9010 movement?

hi guys ... I was blown away by a franken Bronzo 382 build over on a sister forum ... it contained GEN P9001 movement, dial and date wheel. Brief discussions with the owner suggested a GEN 9001 movement would accept the REP dial and DW would align.

Anyone have experience with this and the 671 ... I am sure the 671 contains the same Rep 7750 movement which more closely in size to a P9001, however that would be the wrong movement for a 671. The newer GEN 9010 movement is thinner than the 9001

I guess my question is .... would a GEN 9010 drop into the XF 671 and take the dial and hands? ... date wheel?

thanks in advance for any input!

if you are referring to the franken 382 listed on repgeek, OP did shared that VSF case set can take a direct drop in, as VSF movement is a clone p9000 movement. a KW case set, is build for a7750 movement would require kw movement holder .

i got a feeling the same applies for P9100 movement

looking forward to hear the experts chim in, pam382 is a P9000 though.

that's the one ... the VSF/XF 671 has the same super clone movement, with the balance wheel in the same position as the GEN p9010

p9000 = 7.9mm thick - 28 jewels
p9010 = 6mm thick - 31 jewels - twin support balance bridge

diameters are same at 13-3/4 lignes ...

curious if Panerai modded the 671 case compared to the 382 case? ... of the accommodated the thinner 1.9mm in some other way

VSF never released PAM671.

while VSF branched out from the same tree as XF, but they are never really the same.

VSF = Clone P9000, P9001, P9003 (inaccurate, with 12 hour GMT)

XF = Mainly decorated P9xxx plates
using ST2555/A7750 as base. except pam571, pam616 in the early days of VSF

Pam671’s P9010 movement, , P9x1x series is not clone in the rep world yet. the current versions are decorated A7750 movements

I assume that’s the one I built? Do you have a link?

the P.9001 was a straight drop in. Even the rep movement ring fit.

I doubt the gen 9010 would match the rep 671 case. But that’s just a guess.

correction ... the 671 is an XF V2 and it is a 7750 based movement, which strange enough the balance wheel is in same position as the GEN P9010

whereas the GEN P9000 movement is in a different position

yes ... that is it ... awesome build I was hoping to duplicate in the 671 ... https://www.repgeek.com/panerai/283317-project-completed-franken-pam382.html

then I guess it would be easier to franken a 382 versus the 671 ... finding GEN dial, hands and date wheel is virtually impossible

Grimlock, i read that you were commenting that KW case is better than VSF. curious, what makes your judgement?

and if you have completed ur build with the gen bezel, looking forward to see the photos 1 day!

great work and patience as always, never cease to amaze. cheers

sacha didn’t show the lugs. The lugs on the original VSF case were not as good as the KW. The VSF V2 is a different story. They appear to have worked out all the kinks with the mid Case and even the CG. But now the bevel on the bezel isn’t quite as good. Regardless I have one on order and my QC shots look great. It will be one only two pure reps in my box.

It's not as strange as it is fortuitous and is precisely the reason why the A7750 was used as the base movement for the rep P.9010. Since the A7750-based P.9000 would be passed over for the more accurate P.9000 superclone movements (even then it was at a disadvantage compared to the Seagull based P.9000 clones with the balance wheel closer to the gen's @7 placement), the movement factories were most likely just as happy to re-purpose the A7750 for another in-house movement "clone".
