Wow! Gen Quartz Panerai?

Come across this on ebay:

Looks like a quartz movement. PAM-branded? I don't think they ever produced non-mechanical watches...so is this a fake? Need to be reported? Or some dark corner of PAM history that we dont know about? Discuss...

I don't even see that the movement is Panerai branded. Panerai, and I'm fairly certain of this, has never manufactured any quartz watches.

Look at second photo, low right hand side corner, I does it Panerai. It also does not look like a blatant fake from the packaging etc.

I am also certain that they never made quartz watches, but this seller looks legit, sells a lot of high-grade watches...weird

Perhaps the seller is unaware that this movement is a fake? It almost certainly has to be. But I agree, it is weird.

Panerai haven't ever made a quartz movement, that movement shows no results when researched, and the price is too low for it to be some sort of ultra rare piece or one off concept or something like that. This is bizarre.

Exactly my thoughts. may be i drop the seller a quick note advising that this is a fake? Will be interesting to hear what he's got to say...but I dont want to report him as of yet.
