WM9 V2 Submariner Advice

Hey friends. So I have the opportunity to buy a WM9 V2 Submariner with a 2836 eta for a very reasonable price sub $500. My understanding from what I have read is that these WM9 Submariners are hard to come by and can run a great deal more expensive than what the seller is willing to let it go for. However, I am no expert and I would like the opinions of my fellow watch lovers. Thank you all and please excuse my ignorance but I trust you all far better than my self on this subject. Thanks. Here are the QC pics.

You’ll want to make sure it is an actual WM9 V2 which not many people know what to look for. Although, if you open the caseback the movement should be a smaller version if I’m not mistaken unless it was swapped out. Personally, for $500, I would pass. You can get a JF for less and it’s probably on par unless you plan on going full franken.

As I recall the V1 was a 2836, V2 had the smaller 2671 eta and the V3 had the 2824-2. I'm not sure if the JF is currently available and $500 might be a tad high, but these watches aren't easy to find these days- the 16610 reps are going the way of the dinosaur.

The value of this watch is the history of the 16610 replicas and not necessarily the accuracy of the rep. If it has that little ETA 2671 made for a woman’s watch that would be pretty cool but not necessarily valuable. I sold a WM9 V1 for well under the asking price of this watch. The watch would be cool to own but if you want one good 16610 in the collection your $500 could be better spent.
