will a 35mm dial fit a watch that came with a 34mm dial?

Hi guys, I have a PAM from Priceangels. The lume sucks, so I came up with the idea that I could buy one of the superlumed homage dials from Getat for example. The problem is, the dial in my PAM is 34mm's, and the closest size I can find of other dials is 35mm's.

It would probably fit in the case etc, but would it actually work? The seconds hand at 9 o'clock for instance, would the hole be placed at the same position?

This is the dial I'm considering using:
http://www.siswatch727.com/showroom/model/T0165/templateProductDetails.do?ParentId=1240435048484000588&currentPage=1&editCurrentLanguage=1239717806671017347&webId=1239717806671017346&productId=1292963501093008953

It says "9 mm for the second subdial", does that mean it's supposed to be 9mm's between the two holes for the different hands? In that case, my dial seem to have the same distance between the holes. Does that mean I won't have problems with this dial?

If anyone knows anything about this, please tell me... thanks! :)

subdial spacing is the same for all 6497 movements.

As for the 34mm vs 35mm... that is tricky, especially since your pam case came from PA. I would try it out. It should fit, as there are a bit of a gap for tolerances for pam cases.

if your current pam is running a 6497 then it will fit the dial for sure as it says so in tat's website but as cwazy1 says ... it is gonna be tricky (for the dial diameter) .. the feet should fit also if not you can cut it away and glue the dial to the movement ... hope this helps in someway

some technical specs of the eta 6497/98

Technical characteristics:
16 1/2 Ligne, Diameter= 36.6 mm, Height= 4.5 mm
17 jewels
Frequency = 18000 A/h

Distance (Hour center to minute center) is 10.01 mm
on the Unitas 6498 & same on the 6497

Thanks for the answers!

I ordered the dial and some matching superlumed hands as well. I'm currently waiting for the paypal invoice.

It looks like I do have a 6497 so everything should fit, and I do have a 44mm Luminor style case so I hope the dial fits in the case. Otherwise I guess I could possibly file down the edges of the new dial or something.

I'm thinking of using the front plate from my current dial with the superlumed backplate of the Getat dial, that way I still have a Panerai branded dial, but with better lume.

I'll probably make a thread about this little "poor mans relume project" when I have received my order.

it would a good idea ... but be very careful when peel the layers apart .. i been thru it ... not desirable result and cannot revert as the lume was damaged ...
