My wife has been itching for a Panerai for some time so we spent a happy evening around the computer with a bottle of wine choosing her baby. I know nothing about them - neither does she (I am into vintage rollies). We asked a few questions here and there and she finally decided on Josh's Titanium bodied 176. We paid up and she waited. Well, the watch arrived yesterday (sooner than expected) and she was stunned - it is fantastic! The overall quality is amazing, I cannot go into minute detail as I don't know what the original is truly like but I know a little about reps in general and this one is superb. I do not have a Panny myself but this piece is making me want one. One tiny gripe - the lever that holds the crown down is a little loose - is this normal? is it the way it should be? To be more specific, when it is closed (in the normal wearing position) the lever has a little play in it, it can swing open a few mm with normal wearing. Hey its no big deal was just wondering.

Anyway a BIG thankyou to Josh for supplying a fantastic piece of work at an incredible price and with efficiency bordering on perfection.

My photographic skills are not too bad but my camera is rubbish (point and shoot holiday snaps thing) so I can't post photos but the watch is easy to find on Josh's site its the swan neck titanium 44mm 176.

Wife and baby doing fine and of course she will be looking at it more than she does me from now on! Ah well, that's life.

Happy Panerai wearing to all of you,

Dieselpower.

I'm still trying to convery my wife into a pannie freak! And no the lever for the crown guard should fit tight when closed shouldn't have play in it.

No, that amount of play when closed is not normal... should 'snap' shut and stay there. Ask Josh for a new crownguard...

I've seen a lot of pannies with the lever problem.
One thing you may think about is modding the lever to give it a tight feel like the gen.

Josh should take care of you if you explain the problem.

I have fourteen Panerai. None have floppy CG levers. (OK... some of my pams are Radiomirs :)

Right now - check that the CG screws are tight. Loose screws are a common cause of the problem.

Losing a loose screw will not improve the situation.
