Why no PAM 297 / 299?

According to Andrew, the 297 and 299 are no longer in production. Yet, when one comes up for sale on here, it is gone within hours. There are plenty of WANTED ads for them too. To me personally, they are top 5 best looking Panerai.

Also, judging by some posts around the time when they were about to be released, there was no shortage of anticipation.

Why would the factories discontinue them? Don't they always try to keep up with what's hot? I can't imagine they were not selling very well.

Any ideas?

It's a super rep that's one of my favorites. I had one, which Ibgabe to my brother. It is one of those reps i can show without worrying if it looks like a rep. Definitely one of the good ones.

I got a 299 from Sead not so long ago! (November 2016) I stole the SS bracelet for my 243 and put leather on the 299 and gave it to my son.

Only one factory made the 297 and 299 and that was the Noob factory. Last year, under the new management, the factory decided to sell off most of the stock which the dealers announced and they were all gobbled up. I believe they aren't looking into making any more PAMs, except for the PAM111, which they are still selling.
