How come this homage can be produced sold and shipped from HK for only $80 with a descent looking finish and half descent looking movement but a similar branded piece is nearly 5x the price.
I know the quality offered by the dealers will be superior to this but does anyone know how much do the pam or any other reps actually cost to produce?
I'm honestly not moaning about price etc just genuinely curious so please don't shoot me down for asking.

replica makers are trying to replicate details within a gen article.

This homage piece can use mass manufactured cases and dials and hands to put everything together.

Look on jackson's website for all your homage needs.

I appreciate what they do and how well they do it, I just wondered where the extra $300 goes and how much it costs say noob or H-factory to actually produce a watch or what their margins where?
Are they making say 40% or is it a very small amount on each piece?
And if they can put out a piece that is nearly 90% the finish and quality if a gen watch in some pieces, then how much do the genuine factories make on a watch?
Just thought it was an interesting topic?

I understand your question the best way to appreciate the differences would be to buy both and see what they feel like in the hand. The quality difference should be apparent. That being said I doubt my wife could tell the difference and would consider them the same. If you're not one of the Analisti the cheaper versions will serve their purpose just fine but if you're possessed with the curse like the rest of us the the extra $$$ will be worth it but you may never be truly satisfied.

Branding alone is not going to cost an extra $300, but losing the benefits of operating within a legal manufacturing environment is (not being able to maximise economies of scale, "management fees", etc etc)

Firstly the best reps are much better than that homage, also, we pay a premium for the risk the dealers and factories go through by producing contraband.

All very good points, I think the one factor I have overlooked is the fact that it is illegal, and I suppose that is why there is a premium over and above the additional manufacturing costs. Thanks guys, question answered. It's nice to be surrounded by enthusiastic people who share a common interest.

You can get very cheap branded ones on price angles and watch Eden for the same price.
