Why DLC/PVD instead real ceramic?

Why all the factories use only DLC/PVD cases instead of ceramic cases for the PAMs? I guess because they are cheaper, but...I am sure there are many other people, like me, who would pay more for a real ceramic case. By the way...I want a PAM441 with real ceramic case. And I want it NOW!

Im in the same boat as you but I would love a pam438, hopefully we see a semi decent version released soon or otherwise I might just have to go for the current version and just live with the flaws

It's probably got something to do with the difficulty of producing ceramic cases versus stainless steel and then applying a PVD/DLC coating.

actually I personally never like ceramic. It looks boring to me. The pencil lead coating I like most. Very lively.

Hi friend
I think it is no matter of taste. O.P.is talking about made of ceramic the gen watches made of ceramic

I really agree with this opinion and I would prefer that makers do an effort and try to get Ceramic watches like HBB, IWC, PAM 292 and others.

Composite is another material to be investigated and tried. But we know really few things about this material.

Anyway, makers and mainly KW are getting good results with DLCd SS replicas and even they are studying and developing replicas with DLCd Titanium to get less weight like ceramic or composite.
We all are buying these reps, myself included, because they are really beautiful. But that delays somehow the development of real ceramic or composite cases.

So they succeeded to make the PAM292 case from real ceramic and they still do the PAM 441 and other models only from DLC'd steel... Something is fishy here...

PAM 292 ceramic is usually a little source of problems and we cannot know how many claims are getting dealers, I think more than with other watches.
We don't know either if Noob factory is earning money enough with this watches.
I think Chinese makers have not yet appropriate ceramic suppliers to get perfect cases, reliable and at good price, whereas SS cases are well controlled by themselves.
