Hello,

Who sell's a Panerai 111H with the right dial. So i mean that the color of the lume is the same as gen. I had a 111H swanneck from trusty and compared with my friend's gen. the gen has a more white colored lume thank mine. Mine looks a bit ivory color.

Does somebody sell's the 111H with the right color lume? In my opinium (from pictures) davidsen's 111H has also the wrong colour (or do i have it wrong? never seen it in real)

Thanks!

Regards Veyron

Davidsen's sanwich dials are close, IMO, but not quite there. If you have to have as close to gen as you can find, you're better off going with a less expensive watch than DSN and sending it off to vaccum or Flavor Flav to be relumed. From reports, the C1/C3 mix that those guys use is VERY close to gen, for the newer PAMs.

vaccum has his own section. Flav doesn't, you'll have to contact him via PM.

Hi Veyron, and what about the font size??
I think that this is the biggest tell of the 111H dial if compared side to side with a gen, do you agree??

Thanks

If you're after close to 1:1 dial type, say bye-bye to the 111/112H sandwich rep dials. They're not even close to their gen counetparts. One only needs to compare numbers 2, 6 and 9 to see the major difference. Gen sandwich dials on 44mm Luminors come with cutouts that resemble pre-V type dial numbers, like 201/A for example. Rep sandwich dials on the other hand look like Vendome sausage dial Luminors, since the numerals are exactly the same in shape and thickness.

Some good rep dials currently are DSN 10/114 and Angus' 111G, IMO.

cheers,

Sorry to thread crap a little, but a quick question for Babola: What do you think of Angus 111E dial is it pretty accurate in relation to gen?

111E and G are the same. Same dial, same movement, same case, different caseback numbers.

So, yes, Angus' 111E is pretty good. It needs a relume and perhaps a cannon pinion fix? The crown is too thick, not beveled on the inside edge and doesn't have enough teeth, but almost all rep crowns are inaccurate in one way or another. It's up to you to decide which flaws are more liveable to you.

I have to agree with hooligan on all points, except for cannon pinion - it's good and flush out of the box.

To add on to the comment on the crown, it is also too stuck to the case. In terms of the dial, it's 99% spot on. I think the "6" is a bit off from gen, but it's hardly (very hardly) noticeable. As mentioned by hooligan, the markers need relume because they're too green when not lit.

Well, all I can say that if I was in the market for nice 111 sausage dial Marina historic rep, I'd go with Angus' 111E. It comes with short cannon pin but thiner than standard dial compensates for that.
The relume of the dial will be a MUST, since it's glow is (reportedly) almost non-existent and the indices are lumed in "radioactive green" :)

The decorated E-series OPXI mov't itself is a work of art, and is becoming scarcer by the day. Even DSN now has issues sourcing it as often as he needs it for his E-G series watches.

cheers,

crown too close to the case? they don't all stick out from the case. it is just tolerance build up. since the crown is spring loaded it just depends on how far the leaver is pushing it down.
