Who can I trust to repair my Daylight?

Greetings to all. I bought my wife a Daylight from Andrew in '06 and it ran great until about a week ago. Now it is intermittently stopping and therfore losing around an hour a day. I want to send it to someone for repair- while I am using the search button for more info, does anyone have an initial direction for me to explore? Thanks, Arty

Don't worry- this is MY hairy, pasty white wrist:

your best bet is to find a local watch smith who will work on reps. The problem is with the asian 7750, most people might not want to work on it. Servicing on this movement will prob run you about $200 and replacement movement is about $120 plus labour to swap it.

it might be something simple, but chances are that its gunna need full service. Its probably dry as a bone or gummed up.

Theres gotta be someone in florida that can tackle this job... Maybe someone here can make a suggestion

Thanks Dizz. My local watchmaker retired; I'm going to contact Andrew next- in hopes of a non-warranty repair. Although he has so much of my $ that he may throw me a bone... what about Ziggy?

ziggy doesnt really take on "new" clients from what i understand, and if he did theres a huge wait to get your watch in to him. Rex on Repgeek is probably a good option for basic repairs.

Hey Arty - let us know what you find out and how you make out with your watch. It will be good to hear which way you go (repair or replace) and who you used, the cost and the outcome.

BTW - That's a killer looking watch!

oh my...thats why i like asian 7750's

almost impossible to find somebody that will work on that movement. a swiss 7750 is normal to last 3-4 years when used regularly then it needs an overhaul.

try to swap the movement for a new one. overhauling your 7750...easy 250 - 300$....not worth at all. ( not if its only a tiny problem ! )

Ziggy....you will not even be able to get his e-mail.

but be prepared for the EXODUS.

rather invest in a new - lasting - watch. good luck.

i think you can't find a movement for this.....unless finding a donor. been looking for a ETA7750 for good 9 months

Thanks to all- Rex is on standby, and is willing to take a look. However, as fate would have it, the watch has seemed to work the problem out by itself- running like a champ now for almost a week. I'm hoping that's the last of this issue. Ciao. Arty
